I remember I had a similar problem with 10.4.1, where Software Update
was greyed out in the Apple Menu, but I could activate it from the
System Preferences. It all fixed itself when I graduated to 10.4.2.

Profiler & Preview

In the same letter I said that Preview would not open .pict (or .pic)
files. Well, Preview will open old files of this type, ie created
when I was using 10.4.1 and earlier, but it will not open files
created by Snapz Pro X while running 10.4.3. Preview will open recent
pictures taken with Apple's Command/Shift/3 etc, but not the Snapz
files. As I said, I never had this problem before 10.4.3. Puzzling.

Profiler & Preview

2005-11-09 Thread Vladimir James

Two anomalies I've noticed since upgrading to 10.4.3.

1. I cannot open System Profiler. Most menu items remain greyed out.
No error message.

2. Preview cannot open .pict files created by Snapz Pro X. Never had
this difficulty before. (Yes, I notified Apple.) Graphic Converter
opens the files without any trouble, although Preview is the
nominated programme to do that job. Error message: Couldn’t open the
file. It may be corrupt or a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize

Perhaps I've missed something somewhere. Anyone got a clue about
these things?
