Hi Michael

You can put 2 x 512MB DIMMs in your FireWire G3 PowerBook (Pismo)  
I'm assuming this is what you have.


Here is an installation guide for installing the 512MB DIMM in the 
bottom slot -

The earlier Wallstreet/Lombard PowerBooks are limited to 2 x 256MB 
DIMMs.


I have a G3 PowerBook 400 (Firewire) with 512 ram in top slot and 128 
in
bottom slot. After reading MacInTouch, I get the impression that OS 
10.2.3

requires 256 meg ram (and perhaps no I.E. or I.E. Security Update).

Is 512 the maximum for the top slot in the G3 PowerBook, and what's the
maximum ram that I can put in the bottom slot?
