I used Mellel for 7-8 months while waiting for Nisus to get their act
together regarding X. I think it's a very good word processor, second
only to current versions of Nisus. Mellel worked well with long
documents, which was a key consideration for me.

The copy I downloaded to check Mellel out has a Demo option on it .
Lets you check it out but restricts the use.

I never did use it.,I don't have much use for document writing
