Ciao Laura,

No problem. I was going mention that your email opening makes perfect sense
considering my Italian origins. :-D

Saluti,
Carlo

 Hi Laura,

I wonder if you have inadvertently set you iPod app on your iPad to play at
two-times normal play speed. To check you can do the following

 1) while a podcast is playing tap the cover so that you see a scrubber bar
along the top of the screen as well as volume and pause play controls
 2) just to the right of the scrubber bar is a small white square that
contains text that will say on of the following
  1X, 2X, or 1/2X

if this square contains the text 2X, tap it until you see 1X

 Cheers,
 Carlo

I have a number of podcasts that I use for foreign language learning. They
are the only podcasts I have on my iPad. Until now these have worked
extremely well with, in some cases, the addition of PDF guides to accompany
the lessons and these sit happily on the ebookshelf for me to access as I
 wish.

I added some more episodes from iTunes and now all the episodes on the iPad
are playing at a faster rate than normal, so much so that I can no longer
keep up with the dialogue. They play normally in iTunes.

Should I perhaps remove all the podcasts on iPad and then start again? If so
 how do I do that?

 Any help much appreciated.
