Re: Voice to Text software

2016-03-19 Thread Ronda Brown
Hi Bill,

Have you tried using Voice Dictation in El Capitan?
Dictation & Speech pane in System Preferences, select the Dictation tab.
Turn on Dictation
OS X El Capitan: Dictate your messages and documents

Cheers,
Ronni

Re: Voice to Text software

2016-03-19 Thread Bill Parker
Ronni,

I did try this but found it producing more errors than my own typing! After
Dragon its too slow, so I think I will invest in the the version of Dragon that
works with 10.10.1

Voice to Text software

2016-03-16 Thread Bill Parker
I used to own Dragon Speak v3 (I think) now long out of date and deleted and
did not work on later Mac OS versions ( I have El Capitan).

I have devoted a number of hours rtying source something like Dragon, but not
sure which version to buy ( simple stuff only - I speak, it types after I have
trained it) so bells and whistles free. Is Dragon ( or rather Nuance) the
only one? Its hard to believe.

Any recommendations welcome. Happy to buy s/h if its OK for 10.0.1 and it
will transfer.

Does anyone have experience of voice to text software and what is the best?

I am also a freelance journalist so typing is imprtant to me
