Thanks Matt,

You are exactly right. Without that information I would not have known where
to look to get Safari 4 to stay open. I have never heard of SIMBL before !

Re: WARNING ... Safari beta users

2009-06-08 Thread Ronda Brown

Hi Greg & Bob,

There are two versions of the New Safari 4.
One is for "Tiger 10.4.11", which you would have downloaded &
installed using Software Update Greg.

The other version "Safari for Leopard' requires Leopard 10.5.7.

Macintosh Requirements
	• Any Mac running Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.7 or Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11
and Security Update 2009-002
	• Mac with an Intel processor or a Power PC G5, G4, or G3 processor
and built-in FireWire®

• 256MB of RAM
	• Top Sites and Cover Flow on Mac OS X Tiger require a Quartz-Extreme
compatible video card

Cheers,
Ronni

theNEWSAFARI 4 installer willNOT let you instal

2009-06-08 Thread Matt Huitson

Hi all,

Also, just a heads up for those of you currently using Safari 3
plugins like Sogudi and AcidSearch: If you upgrade to Safari 4 and do
not first uninstall/remove these plugins you will most likely find
that Safari 4 refuses to launch. Depending on where you installed
(for one user or all), removing the following folders should get
Safari 4 up and running again:

~/Library/Application Support/SIMBL
~/Library/InputManagers/SIMBL

Sogudi is no longer supported, hence it will not work with Safari 4.
The best alternative I have found is Keywurl, although at time of
writing it appears to be awaiting an upgrade to coincide with this
latest Safari 4 release.

Regards.
