For posterity and to possibly help others in the future ... Many thanks to Brian who helped me solve the problem I was having getting my brother-in-law's Mac to share an ADSL connection through an XP box using M$ Internet Connection Sharing.
Brian gave me the tip that it was probably the MTU. Setting this down to 1470 (from the default of 1500) sorted out most problems (haven't had time to check everything). I used IPNetTuner to do this in OS9. Thanks Brian and thanks to others who spent time thinking about it and sending me suggestions. Cheers Greg
