Hi Adrian ... a happy new year to you also !!

In the top left corner of each video clip should be a pull down menu that
includes audio options.
Use this to turn down the volume of the audio in the video clip.
Then drag the music you want into the project from the media window.
I can't recall the exact details re the above, because I have not used it for
some time and I don't have a project to check on at the moment.

Actually I have gone back to using iMovie 06 as it has far more functionality
and is much easier to use.
You can just turn the volume up and down in the video timeline wherever you
wish and drag music into the appropriate position in one of the two audio
tracks directly below the video clips.

Hi Adrian,

I had to do this on a project some time back.

Delete original recorded sound:

Delete the sound recorded at time of filming & replace with a music track.

Right click on the clip and select Detach Audio, then select the audio clip and
hit the delete key.
It no longer plays the audio.

Cheers,
Ronni

iMovie Sound

2010-01-01 Thread Adrian Skehan

Good afternoon all, I hope you all had a pleasant Xmass & New Year. I have
been off list for a while visiting friends and relies in the eastern states.

Can anyone out there please tell me if there is a way to mute/delete the
original sound from an iMovie 09 (version 8.0.5, Snow Leopard 10.6.2) event or
project and replacing it with music.
