Thanks Brian for reminding me to update instructions how to install Safari

Did you require rubygems?

Also, please make sure you follow the instructions how to install
SafariWatir:

or

I tried it on fresh Mac OS X 10.6.3. I will try Mac OS X 10.5 soon to check

[wtr-general] Stop Firefox?

2010-04-01 Thread Nate
Hey Everyone,

I'm new to Watir/Ruby, and so far I'm liking it a lot, and have gotten
meaningful testing done in a day of development. Thanks to everyone
for Watir! The web app I'm working with continuously loads, looking
for new activity, and I'm wondering if there is a way to stop
Firefox. The submit form function waits until the page is loaded, and
in my scenario, it's never done loading. Digging around so far, I've
found two options, install the source and modify the submit function,
or manually press stop in Firefox so the submit function completes.

Is there another option? Both have drawbacks, as modifying the
source, would require other users to have to do the same if they run
my scripts, and obviously, human interaction is not the greatest. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

nate

[wtr-general] Re: Basic Authentication using FireWatir on Ubuntu Linux

2010-04-01 Thread lothar
Thanks for the quick reply Željko. Yes, I checked out that site
before I posted to the group, but it seems to contain windows only
solutions. Solution 1 requires 'watir' and 'watir/WindowHelper' which
in turn require things like 'watir/win32ole' and 'watir/ie'. It
doesn't look like there is a firewatir equivalent to 'watir/
WindowHelper' (i.e. 'firewatir/WindowHelper'). Solution 2 is a
windows only solution as well (uses autoit, which I *think* is IE
only, but could be wrong on this).

Unless I missed something, that page doesn't contain any solution that
works on firewatir + linux.

Is the solution that is in Angrez's fork written using AutoIt, or JSSH? If
it is the latter, it should be compatible across all operating systems. But
I haven't looked at it to see.
AutoIt is windows-only, yes.
