After fiddling with the settings, I found the real problem lies with
kcm-wacomtablet providing incorrect default settings:
Raw Sample Rate = 1
Suppress Rate = 0
While the correct default settings should be:
Raw Sample Rate = 4
Suppress Rate = 2
I will report to kcm-wacomtablet instead. Sorry for the false alarm!

However the crash is not reproducible, it was my mistake while I was reporting

Thank you (+ everyone involved).

Just out of curiosity: I've seen someone who mentioned this bug in the comments
of your blog post about Fedora Workstation 30. Was that actually a trigger to
fix it or did you prioritize the bug due to other reason and it just happens to
fix this bug as well?

[Wayland-bugs] [Bug 110479] AddressSanitizer:DEADLYSIGNAL in src/egl/drivers/dri2/platform_surfaceless.c:139

2019-04-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=110479

I have looked at the trace. The source code line and struct offset imply that
dri2_egl_display::image_driver is NULL in dri2_surfaceless_create_surface
function. Of note is also the fact that a software renderer is used:

libEGL warning: No hardware driver found, falling back to software rendering

I see the following piece of code in dri2_wl_create_window_surface:

   if (dri2_dpy->image_driver)
  createNewDrawable = dri2_dpy->image_driver->createNewDrawable;
   else if (dri2_dpy->dri2)
  createNewDrawable = dri2_dpy->dri2->createNewDrawable;
   else
  createNewDrawable = dri2_dpy->swrast->createNewDrawable;

Shouldn't the surfaceless variant also try all three instead of relying on
image_driver not being NULL?

Note that I am not overly familiar with how dri works, so I might be wrong.

Bug ID: 110479
   Summary: AddressSanitizer:DEADLYSIGNAL in
src/egl/drivers/dri2/platform_surfaceless.c:139
   Product: Mesa
   Version: 19.0
  Hardware: Other
OS: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: EGL/Wayland
  Assignee: wayland-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: d...@hjdskes.nl
QA Contact: mesa-...@lists.freedesktop.org

Hello,

I'm setting up a CI pipeline for my wlroots based Wayland compositor, Cage
(https://github.com/hjdskes/cage). On the CI server, I execute Cage with
wlroots' headless backend and then run Cage with several sanitizers.

In this process, I came across a "deadly signal" in the address sanitizer, the
trace of which is can be found at
https://builds.sr.ht/~hjdskes/job/56792#task-gcc-64.

The manifest with the build definition can be found at
https://builds.sr.ht/api/jobs/56792/manifest. In short, this runs on an

The fix is already on the server-1.20-branch in Git, so it'll be in the 1.20.4
release. Unfortunately, there's no specific plan yet for when that'll happen.
Meanwhile, maybe ask your distro to pull fixes from the release branch.

I have been running a self-compiled package for 1.20.3 with the patches from
the merge request 45 for several days and it's the first time in a while that
xwayland doesn't crash at all, so I would say this is indeed a dupe. I'll write
the debian team to include them in a new package for the time being.

The Feral launcher still freezes in almost all cases on Xwayland and it is the
only game from Feral with this issue. The only workaround is to try restarting
(kill the app and start again) until the Feral launcher starts one time
successful and then to disable the Feral launcher. It is quite strange that it
works in very rare cases.

Not really, the goal of xdg-output is not to address this, its role is to
expose the current monitor layout (including resolutions and position) in a
more desktop oriented protocol.

In practice, it is used currently mainly by the compositor to expose the
current "logical" size to Xwayland, in the case of fractional scaling for
example.

Bug ID: 109220
   Summary: Commit 08843efc5940563a2275c654804c999cfc772987 causes
kwin_wayland to deadlock
   Product: Wayland
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: XWayland
  Assignee: wayland-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bluescreen_aven...@verizon.net
QA Contact: xorg-t...@lists.x.org

Hi

I am not sure of what information to provide since I am not sure how the
internals of kwin_wayland works.

But trying to run kwin_wayland with master xserver, and it hangs, running it
with GDB, and IIRC it hangs trying to connect to the display. (and it deadlocks
pretty hard, where it ignores CTRL+C)

I narrowed it down to commit 08843efc5940563a2275c654804c999cfc772987
the commit before, and kwin_wayland runs fine

Thanks

I'm also seeing the feral options launcher for ROTR go straight to a black
screen. It has however loaded twice today, I've been trying it all day so it's
a super low percentage. Even then the game freezes instantly once the logos
appear. The first time there was some corruption on the bottom of the screen
similar to attachment_140337. There was no corruption on the second. No issues
with other feral games I own (deus ex mankind divided, F1 2015, XCOM 2,

Thanks for pointing that commit out. However, I got the backtrace using xserver
from git://anongit.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver at the beginning of November,
when I guess the fix had already been efective for some time. Please confirm
that's the right git repository and I'll try to reproduce the issue again with

Bump.

I managed to get a backtrace with debug symbols. Please notice the signal is
first raised at #7, and if you ask gdb to continue running then a signal is
raised again at #0.

If not the same bug, a very similar one. XWayland almost crashes by just
looking at it.

sorry mate, bugzilla is retired (and this is the Xwayland component, different
thing altogether). libinput is here:
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/libinput/libinput/issues

I'll need the libinput record (or evemu-record) output for the device when
you're scrolling.

[Wayland-bugs] [Bug 109087] libinput ignores gen1 magicmouse touch-scroll and middle click

2018-12-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109087

Bug ID: 109087
Summary: libinput ignores gen1 magicmouse touch-scroll and
middle click
   Product: Wayland
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: XWayland
  Assignee: wayland-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rburc...@pinsightmedia.com
QA Contact: xorg-t...@lists.x.org

I have been unable to drive a bluetooth gen-1 magicmouse as anything other than
a stock 2-button mouse. Regardless of config or params libinput refuses to
register events for middle button or any touch v-scroll and h-scroll actions.

hid_magicmouse is driving the device:

[Tue Nov 13 08:40:35 2018] magicmouse 0005:05AC:030D.0005: unknown main item
tag 0x0

BLUETOOTH HID v3.06 Mouse [rburcham’s Mouse] on [redacted]

hid_magicmouse is reporting the params:

$ grep "" /sys/module/hid_magicmouse/parameters/*
/sys/module/hid_magicmouse/parameters/emulate_3button:Y
/sys/module/hid_magicmouse/parameters/emulate_scroll_wheel:Y
/sys/module/hid_magicmouse/parameters/report_undeciphered:N
/sys/module/hid_magicmouse/parameters/scroll_acceleration:N
/sys/module/hid_magicmouse/parameters/scroll_speed:32

Whether driven in xorg via evdev or via libinput (shown here) the driver
reports enabled capabilities:

not too sure if bug109069 is relevant here - but it looks very similar.

1. start weston (nohup weston)
2. start firefox in weston to start xwayland
3. switch to tty, export DISPLAY=:1, firefox
