I indeed missed that new repo and I have reread the webpage build.html, but yes there it is not mentioned yet. question to wayland-protocols and configure error.
Hi, I got a configure error since this week: checking for COMPOSITOR... yes checking for WAYLAND_PROTOCOLS... no configure: error: Package requirements (wayland-protocols >= 0.1.0) were not met: No package 'wayland-protocols' found Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you installed software in a non-standard prefix. Alternatively, you may set the environment variables WAYLAND_PROTOCOLS_CFLAGS and WAYLAND_PROTOCOLS_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for more details. On both test / developing machine, what I am missing and where can I get these requested protocols pc files?? Any help or hint(s) would be appreciate :=) cheers chris ___ wayland-devel mailing list wayland-devel@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/wayland-devel
libinput / weston-terminal : missing the caret char in the terminal (^)
Hi list, hi Peter and Bill, I actually did not have the possibility to enter the caret (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caret) char within the weston-terminal. Does anybody have an idea why or what is missing?? Or does anybody else have this issue ?? ( I have not looked into bugzilla but no entry found) I think many people need this char for example to search strings from a beginning of a line etc. I am using almost git versions for the weston build(s) running under CentOS Linux release 7.1.1503 (Core) since more than a half year now, compiling from time to time new, but this char was missing from my first experiments until now, as I am writing to you here. If its a bug/missing code, who can help or if I would try it myself, where to start looking ? Cheers Chris ___ wayland-devel mailing list wayland-devel@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/wayland-devel

Weston hangs with copy&paste actions from /to gedit and firefox ??
Hi list, I do not have an backtrace nor some hints, but FYI I have a problem with firefox and gedit under wayland-devel I have opened a text file (a patch in this case) and doing copy and paste into the gmail editor window of firefox. suddenly the weston desktop hangs - a remote login is possible and the only way to reset the session. Ok the hardware power button is working too, so a clean shutdown is possible. This issue with the hang of weston is reproduce able and I avoid to use gedit or gvim in a weston session. DId some others notice that issue or have also the same behaviour ? or is this only my local box?? I did not retest on another box yet, cause having two boxes to pull and compile - needs a lot of time. In the case I want to make a valueable backtrace, what do you suggest to enable the right DEBUG settings ? I also notice often that in the Copy & Paste case that some lines are missing like you see below: I have selected the first screen of the weston startup messages and paste it into the gmail editor, but all lines starting with TAB or WHITESPACE seems to be deleted/ignored or whatever... On the other hand I can use weston over some weeks without any big issues (or reboots etc) - that must be said, it is soo nice to have weston as a native display manager/ desktop.
