Re: WBMUTBB Digest, Vol 6, Issue 37

2006-02-03 Thread Thomas j Bell
This is Dexter Bell writing in on my son Tom's e-mail account. I have to
say how much I enjoy hearing everyday from all you folks. It is the
highlight of my day.

I have a question for you all. Do any of you enjoy the Reba show as much
as we do? I know it isn't exactly TAGS, and it has a few modern touches,
but we really love it. I think one of the main reasons is the
personality of Reba. I read her autobiography a few weeks ago, and she
seems like a pretty good person to me. And I think that comes through in
the show. Does any one share our thoughts on this?

Thanks

Convicts at large car

2006-02-03 Thread Chris Crum
The car used in Convicts at large is not a Ford. I'm familiar with the
old fords as I own a 1932 coupe. After doing a little web surfing, I've
determined that it is either a 1933 or 1934 Pontiac 2 door sedan.
Certain details indicate this. The emblem on the radiator grill shell.
The relief's on the lower front fenders, the grill shell shape, The
vents on the hood sides are among some of the things. The 33 and 34
Pontiacs were very similar. Maybe there is Pontiac expert out there that
determine the exact year.

Mr. Schwamp & key rings

2006-02-03 Thread Janet Anderson
I was watching the "Fun Girls" episode last night, and my keen powers of
observation kicked in during the scene where Thelma Lou and Helen are sitting
at the table with Gomer and Goober at the dance. I saw Mr. Schwamp sitting
down at a table in the background, so I started watching him instead of the
main characters. He is seated with a woman, and they appear to actually be
carrying on a conversation. Of course, you can't hear him, but you can see his
lips moving just like a normal person talking! It seems weird to see Mr.
Schwamp's lips moving! I'm so used to seeing him just smile and nod. Even
when he is purely in the background of a scene, I don't recall seeing him
engaged in conversation at any other time.

Also, I can now answer a question I posed in my last post. I asked if anyone
knew of any other time that two key rings were seen on the peg outside the
cells. Well, I noticed that in the "Fun Girls," there were two rings when
Barney grabbed one to open the cell door after Daphne locked Andy and herself
inside. So now I have two instances of the double key rings. I'll be on the
lookout for any more sightings!

shoes

2006-02-03 Thread Kim
In the episode where Clara (or was it Bertha?) mentions her son Gale, she
mentions having a gentleman friend. And Aunt Bee asks if this gentleman still
cuts slits in his shoes. Was, or is, that a common practice? I tried to think
of a reason why someone would do that. Maybe their feet get hot, or are so
extra wide they can't find a good fit. Does anyone do this or know of somebody
who does?

I can't help but think about Floyd saying, "There's a lot of bad feet."

Opie's Name

2006-02-03 Thread Lori Heine
Hey, all,

I have often wondered just how Opie got his name. Is it short for something
-- perhaps the name of some rather obscure person in the Bible, perhaps?

Has anybody heard of any other person, in the whole, wide world, with the
name Opie, or could it just have been made up by the writers of the show?

Clara's son

2006-02-03 Thread HigginsQ
Wasn't Clara's boy's name Gale, not Gene as Dan stated? I remember Clara
saying"My boy Gale" to Aunt Bee.
Just another trivial triviality.

[no subject]

2006-02-03 Thread Carol Stonemetz
My favorite color episode is the one where Andy goes to a cabin to catch some
bank robbers and is caught himself. The most hilarious scene is when Howard
throws the glass of water into Andy's face. It makes me laugh out loud every
time.

I have been very busy lately and haven't had time to read the digest so have
deleted a lot. Would the person who created the Frappr page please email me?
I put myself on, but now am kinda scared about it and think I should probably
take myself off.
