63 squad car for sale

2006-02-20 Thread Phil Fox
To all my Mayberry friends out there,
I am sorry to report that financial situations beyond my control
have forced the parting of ways for my 63 squad car and I.
This is for those who may not have seen my earlier post on this.
It has been signed by 12 cast members and is a total blast to cruise
around in.
I have pics of them signing it to verify their authenticity.
Several even rode around in it.
It is on the pricey side. In the $20Ks range.
It is a fine automobile, it belonged to my late husband Bernard, and
I only drove it to market and to
church on sundays. H I mean. it 's fun to drive (I got carried
away there for a moment)
You too can now stroll through town like the Sheriff & Deputy used to.
I live in the Charlotte area of NC
E-mail me or call me for details

Well you know what they say Dan. Everyone talks about Lake Charles, but no
one does anything about it!

Mayberry Bible Study Help

2006-02-20 Thread Ken Anderson
I have been asked to teach my Mayberry Bible Study to a group of 15
confirmation students. I have taught the class several times, but it has
been to adults. I will be teaching it starting next week at a retirement
community. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has taught this to
young people as I would like to know what you did to make it appeal to them.
I will be doing a 90 minutes session before our Wednesday night Lenten
services. You can email me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Chinese Anyone? and Nicknames

2006-02-20 Thread Cheryl Langille
Don't hold your breath for those green beans chinese style. Aunt Bee
used the recipe to line the garbage pail.

Regarding nicknames: Of course there was Charlie O'Mally (Hey, Chuck!).
This probably doesn't count but how about "ol' Sig" in reference to
Sigmund 'Frood'.

Nicknames

2006-02-20 Thread David Burch
As ol' Barn told Mrs. Lesch, "That's just a nick for Bernard," something hit
me last night when Barney called Thelma Lou "Thel." He called her
"Thel," Andy was "Anj," and Gomer was "Gome." Who else did he give a nick to?
I seem to remember "Ope" for Opie. Where there any others?

Right off the bat, I can think of "Goob" for Goober, "Nita" for Juanita, and
Charlie or Chuck for Charles O'Malley.

I take offense

2006-02-20 Thread Dan Goodwin
I take offense to the notion that my participation in The Digest falls of
because of I just got Season #5. Season #5 has absolutely nothing to do
with it. (I haven't finished Season #4 yet.)

TV Land Awards

2006-02-20 Thread Kim
Not only did they misspell Crump, they didn't include Barney and Andy as
greatest crime fighting duo. Mayberry would be a regular sin city without this
duo, or at least full of rampant jaywalkers and horn honkers.

I'm beginning to notice something. Every time a new season is released on DVD,
the number of posting on our board drops.

Coincidence? I think not.
