Hoosier Tags Fans...

2006-12-14 Thread Brearry
Hey All,

Thought I'd holler at the Indiana folks on the List one more time,
about meeting at the Mayberry Cafe in Danville, IN for a Mayberry
  get together.

I've heard so far from six TAGS fans who will be coming (along with
their beter-halfs). Including Mary, from Illinois!

At this point, since it's so close to the holidays, I think we will meet
after the first of the year. How about these Saturday dates: Jan-20,
Jan-27, or Feb-3. Everyone check their calendars and we'll choose
the best date for the most people.

I'm sure excited about this. Ranks right up there with that gold
  truck coming to town!

I'm From SC

2006-12-14 Thread Lawrence
Well, at the risk of possibly getting a summons from Mr. Bentley in answering
his question, I'll do like Andy said Romeo did in Juliet's soliloquy and say
I'm right chere in Peak, SC. Which isn't very far piece across the dam from
Lexington where he practices.

To brag just a little, Peak claims the distinction of being the smallest town
in SC. I was resident number 61 when I moved there in 2003. The town is so
small that the mail does not get delivered. Mr. Kim runs the post office where
our PO Boxes are and if we go while it is open he hands us our mail when we
walk in the door. And you get the pleasure of catching up on the town news with
a nice chat with him. In Peak there are three types of communication-
telephone, telegraph and tell Mr. Kim. But, don't tell him I said that please -
it'll be all over town.

Wishing all here in this wonderful little corner of Mayberry a MaybERRY
Christmas from Peak.

Larry in Peak, SC

To respond to a couple of recent posts

I haven't figured out who Nice Dress Nellie is (actress name), but I
have been trying to keep a list of her appearances. If you have a list
also, let me know. I'll publish my list after some more viewing.

Horn-Rimmed Harry sure could cut a rug. Did you see him dancing with
Helen in the Fun Girls episode?

And speaking of Background Actors..I just spotted the 19th Episode of
Mr. Schwamp!! ( I didn't make that the title 'cause some folks think we
talk about him too much). In The Barbershop Quartet (191 filmed, 192
aired) you have to watch real close but he is in the background when the
rival sheriff pulls up to taunt Andy a little bit. He's really in the
 background in this one.

Someone asked whether Ernest T Bass lived in a house or a cave. I am
going to have to say a house/shack. When he was looking for a
girlfriend, the only things he needed were a uniform, and an
education...so he must have already had a decent place to live. Maybe
it needed a new roof (he did stand out in the rain once) or a new coat
of mud on the floor..but it was a start.

The Untrained Voice, and semi--trained Noticer
 All God's Children got a a) girl, b) uvula..anymore answers to this
 catch phase you remember?

There was a Sheldon Leonard that played Nick. Is this the Producer of
 our favorite show.

Yes indeed, it is the same Mr. Leonard. He did a great job as Nick.

I was over at the Dime Store looking for Keevey Hazelton's Greatest Hits.
But all they had was his Christmas CD. Maybe I'll try over at Weaver's.
Got to find one for my Grandma, she just loves Keevey.

I'm just not going to drive all the way to Mt. Pilot to get a CD. A good
suit, yes. A CD, no.

Re: Dime Store Shopping

2006-12-14 Thread Albert Acevedo
Well, Miss Hobbs... that settles it. You done sold me on the idea of some
serious Dime Store shopping! Soon as I take my wagon load of empty
Nectarine Crush bottles over to Foley's Mkt for the deposit refund, I'll be
on by the Dime Store for some quality gift buying. I already figured I'd get
Aunt Verandy and cousin June some flints for their lighters, and for cousin
Ernie a bottle of fancy slick 'um for his hair. Or maybe the Keevy Hazelton
Signature Series comb set for cousin Ernie... so many decisions, so little
time... one thing is for certain, Miss Hobbs... be it buttons or notions,
sundries or potions - you can find them all at The Dime Store. (P.S. do
you think rolls of electrical tape would make a good gift?)

RE: Nice Dress Nellie

2006-12-14 Thread Sue Doughty
Joe,

I was watching Andy and the Woman Speeder last night and Nice Dress
Nellie was in the scene where they were having Mayor's court. She was
on the back row of the gallery.

Also, in Ellie Saves a Female, I believe Ellie was waiting on Nice
Dress Nellie in the Drug Store when Frankie came in to buy her father's
tobacco and was looking at the female war paint.
