Andy reference in cartoon

2007-03-19 Thread m white
TAGS fans,

(my apologies if I have sent this twice, but I had a problem on the PC)

If you didn't see the TAGS reference in my comic strip last Tuesday, you can
see it on-line at www.tuttles.net, then click on the top cartoon--that'll take
you to the archive. Look at the 7th cartoon from the top. Or, click on
http://burtcottage.dailyread.com/Sams_Place/tutep1381.1390.html to get there
quicker. While you're there, feel free to look around.

How, would YOU have gotten the trivia question in the strip?

>>Has any body seen "Wild Hogs" yet. Some very direct Mayberry
references (not too bad) and a repeat of a Barney stunt >>involving
glass.

Joe,

I saw Wild Hogs this weekend. I grinned from ear to ear when Tim Allen
spoke of Mayberry and Aunt Bee!!! Didn't think about the glass breaking
being a Barney stunt, but now that you mention it..I totally agree.

That reminds me of a saying of an English professor friend of mine: "Truth is

some updates

2007-03-19 Thread MAYBERRY ON MAIN
We had some special guests in our shop this weekend Kenneth "Otis" Junkin,
and Jeff "Howard" Branch! They made it so fun here, and we were so excited to
see them and to have them in our shop! We also attended the Surry County Arts
Ball on St. Patricks Day, and we were THRILLED to see Betty Lynn there. She is
doing great, and said that she is still unpacking. She also exclaimed that she
LOVES her view of the mountains!!! We just wanted to update you on her since
she hasnt gotten 'out and about' too much since being here in Mt. Airy.

We also made a 'pit stop' on our way to Myrtle Beach... we stopped in Siler
City. We got to see the place where "Aunt Bee" lived after TAGS, and her
beautiful grave site. We have some pictures of that trip, and of our exciting
weekend on our website, under the "Events" page. So please check those out!

Hope all is well. Thanks for your continuing support of us! and "Everything is
OK in Myberry!"

WALLYS

2007-03-19 Thread Mike Peacock
Hi Gang,
My oil change center (plus another in town) use the pit method for oil
changing. Only difference is back then they didn't have Penzoil :)
Glad to see some discussion about Wally's. A few weeks ago I posted
about the older gas stations like Wally's and a link to a site full of pics
that brought back memories hopefully to a few. No one commented so I
assumed there was no interest, but even so, actions speak louder than words,
RIGHT?
You may recall the interior bay of Wally's shown in the episode where
the Gomer allowed the Hanson brothers to park their car in there while Wally
was gone, one stayed hidden in the trunk and robbed the place at nite. A
regular Trojan horse!

Andy's autograph

2007-03-19 Thread Jimmy Phillips
Andy rarely signs anything and most of what he has signed is studio publicity
shots and there are a lot of forgery's around. The safest would probably be a
cancelled check. I beleive that a expert on Andy's signature has some
information on e-bays website.

  Yes, Sharon,
In 1953 I worked in a Grease Pitt much like the one in Mayberry . 35
cents an hour . I was "in charge" of it . It involved cleaning and saving the
"Bulk oil" to resale .
This was rural Fayetteville Georgia during the Korean war .
It was the only way I knew of to change oil . It was recycled, and every
Oil change we would have to grease the ball joints {The undercarriage} , fill
the Differential and transmission with the most terrible smelling grease ever
made . For all this I got to carry a grease rag in my back pocket . That was
something for a 14 year old .
I'd almost forgotten that innocent time . Thanks for bringing it up .

"Find Me a Man Like Goober" music video

2007-03-19 Thread Martin Simmons
Greetings fellow fans,

I am interested in seeing the Moore & Moore's "Find Me a Man Like
Goober" music video. For those of us stuck in a "Mayberry wanna-be"
hick town and can't go to the Video Release Party, when will it be on
TV? Is there going to be a premier TV showing? Please let us know,
we would like to see it. We would rather be there with ya'll, but
will have to settle.
