public domain

2007-06-28 Thread ROBERT PHILLIPS

Someone once told me that sixteen epsidodes became public domain
because when it
was time to renew the copy rights, those sixteen episodes were over looked
and the copy
rights on them did not get renewed.

Does anyone out there know where I might be able to get replicas of
the Mayberry deputy
sherriffs badges?

Barneys gun names

2007-06-28 Thread Danny Taylor
While watching TAGS today, I noticed that Barney referred to his gun as a
'gat' when he was describing his bustin' out of jail plan.

Did he have any other names that he used for it?

Heater, Old Roscoe and Baby are a few that come to mind.

Dapper Dan
I wonder if he ever named his bullet?

"Roscoe", "This Baby" and "Heater" were names that I remember that
Barney used for his gun.

I think he also called it Blue Steel Baby, Roscoe, and the old persuader.
There could be others. Barn had a talent, I think, for naming guns! :)

Goldie Hawn

Does this mean that I can't trust my Odd Facts Known By Few book? The book
said that giraffes don't have vocal chords which would account for them not
warning the other giraffes about lightning (making them appear selfish).

I just watched TV Or Not TV yesterday and Fast Gun Fife referred to his gun as
Roscoe, the old persuader, and I think, steel blue baby. He then asked the
"television writer" what they called it in Hollywood and the guy replied, "A
gun."

2007-06-28 Thread GRITTON, JOE A (ATTOPS)

I believe I saw a sink in a cell that Otis or someone was in. It was in
Cell#2 so it may not have been Otis.

I just always assumed the privy was just beyond the back room.

That way Barney could let the prisoners out--walk them back there and
then take them back to the cell.

But I'm just guessin.

Goldie Hawn

2007-06-28 Thread John O. Dalke, e-PRO, GRI
I recall Andy mentioning Goldie Hawn during a tribute to Tennessee Ernie Ford
in the early 1990's. As I recall, Andy was hosting a variety special on which
Ernie was a guest. He mentioned that one of the dancers was wearing old ratty
sneakers, and Ernie bought her a new pair of shoes. He then mentioned that the
girl was Goldie Hawn.

And now you know the...rest of the story. (To coin a phrase!)

I know Andy did a couple of TV specials in the 1960s. I'm curious also as to
whether Goldie was one of the go-go dancers on "The Keevy Hazelton Show" in
the episode "A Singer in Mayberry"? (Would've been about the right time,
definitely before "Laugh-In.") For what it's worth, Goldie's IMdB biography
doesn't mention "Andy" or Andy.
