You know what me Lydia talk most about "Class Reunion"?? Why Barney's old sweetheart, Ramona Wilely Becktoris, did not remember him at all.? His looks certainly had not changed that much.? It wasn't a very large class, and even if she did not like Barney the way he liked her, surely she had to recall who he was!? I can understand why his feelings were hurt.? A small class, only twenty years later, and someone acting like they never remembered you even existed. Never made sense to Lydia; never made sense to me.? This is from the episode MIND OVER MATTER, where Goober thinks his back is hurt. When Opie and Aunt Bee are trying to help him into her car to take him to their house, he keeps saying what sounds like, "OH LAND, OH LAND!" So I put the tv on closed captioning and sure enough it had him saying that. What does that mean? I have heard people say LAND A GOSHEN or MY LANDS to express excitement, but OH LAND Any ideas? I kindly thank whoever posted the link to the Betty Lynn article in the Raleigh paper. Or was it Charlotte? I forget. Anyhow, they had a link to contact the writer of the piece and I contacted him via email and gave my opinion of Betty Lynn. Said how she was my fave of all the women and why. I went down the list from Cheerio Meredith (oldest semi regular woman on the show) to Aneta Corseut (last semi-reg. woman to be added before B Lynn's departure). He answered me today and promised to forward my email to Ms. Lynn's go-between who will see that she gets it. So thanks again! I hope I made Ms. Lynn happy with my remarks. Just wanted to tell all of you how much I enjoy reading the posts. Some of you are detail watchers extrodinaires I had the blessing of babysiting my little 1 yr old grandson over the holiday weekend and we had the chance to watch TAGS together. I wish that all of you could have seen his face every time the theme song came on. He would get really still and just watch the tv so closely, and then break out in the biggest smile. Darlinton Historic Racing Festival!!!!
I'm sure we have some NASCAR fans here and I want to let you know about an event that's about a year away...but if you LIKE NASCAR and racing, especially the "old days"...you'll WANT to think and plan about this!! It'll be at Darlington (SC) Raceway the (Labor Day) weekend of August 30-31st 2008. There'll be many vintage NASCAR cars there both origionals and replicas (if you're in the Charlotte/Darlington SC area and have an Andy Squad Car...it'd be welcome too!!!) plus others like modifieds, short track and even some historic Indy Cars!! These will be ON track at exhibition speeds!! Several former drivers will be there for autograph and Q&A sessions! I'll have my "Frank Warren Dodge Magnum #79" there and Frank will be coming up from Augusta, Ga for this! (also there's the "Historic Augusta Raceway" event there the following week!!) As Barney would say... "this is BIG!!"
