Harmonica

2007-10-21 Thread Carol Stonemetz
OK, I have one vote from Paul that Don told him he could not play the
harmonica and I have one vote from Aunt Bee that Don told her he could play.
Do we have a tie-breaker from anyone?

Don and the harmonica

2007-10-21 Thread jlj9675
All I can figure is that Don Knotts, in his usual caring way, couldn't bear
to disappoint an obvious fan and answered in a positive way! Wouldn't it be
fun to query Ange on this? I bet he can remember one way or the other.

Mayberry Days Photos

2007-10-21 Thread Robbie Curlee
One of the best sources for Mayberry Days pictures is the "official"
Mayberry Days site:
http://host576.ipowerweb.com/~surryart/main/displaypage.php?page=images/gallery/pgallery.html
There are some excellent photos from past years on the photo gallery page.

Hi All!
I have never been to Mayberry Days, but plan to get there soon.
In the meantime, I live vicariously through those of you who attend &
are kind enough to post pictures. Would you please run that link
again since I somehow deleted it by mistake!?! THANK YOU!!!

Memorabilia

2007-10-21 Thread CTMIDWAY58
The following report was filed Friday, the day I got home from our trip and
had just signed back into the group, and evidently was not back in the queue
for posting. Anyhoo, here it be again...some good information in case anyone
goes to Mt. Airy and goes to the Emporium looking for Emmett's display of
memorabilia read on.

We stopped in Mt. Airy today on the way home from the New River Gorge and
they were in the process of moving all the show's memorabilia from the Emporium

to the room on the lower level of the Playhouse where Thelma Lou's pictures
are.
There was also an article in the Mt. Airy news saying the building they had
hoped to have was not to be as all bids were too high for the job. So, unless
some generous benefactor supplies a great amount of cash the building is not
to be built, at least not any time soon. And not at taxpayer expense.
And you know, even today, there was a line at Snappy Lunch!!!
Glad to be hometired, broke, but fascinated by all we saw and did!!

Humbled I Am

2007-10-21 Thread Ken Anderson
I am truly humbled regarding Ernest T.'s kind words. I don't know about my
being a "prince". Most folks I know would probably say I am more like the
"court jester". But anyway, thank you kindly Ernest T.

Also, I just received my fifth building in the Hawthorne Mayberry Christmas
Village Collection. It is our beloved "All Souls Church" and it comes with
a string of six street lamps that can be lit with either batteries or an
adapter. I am thinking that there must be one more building in the set that
is yet to come. I deduced that because I have five buildings and there are
six lights and six minus five equals one. That is something like "two and
two makes four".

Dressing Up as Barney

2007-10-21 Thread Anita Carpenter
Peaches, I loved your story about your son wanting to be "Barney" for
Halloween! It always warms my heart when I hear about the next generation of
TAGS fans. What a great Mom you are for going to all of the trouble to make
his "uniform" as authentic as possible. Arn't ya kindarn't ya kind. I can
just see him pulling that bullet out of his pocket to prove who he was!! LOL

Thanks for sharing with all of us.
