I did it

2007-12-12 Thread Ken Anderson
Just want you all to know that I did take a nap, and then I went shopping,
and then I watched It's a Wonderful Life with my wife. Yep, that is what I
did all right. I took a nap, I went shopping, and I watched It's a
Wonderful Life. It was wonderful just taking a nap, going shopping, and
watching It's a Wonderful Life with my wife. You all should try it some
time. But you can't watch It's a Wonderful Life with my wife. You have to
find your own partner.

Thanks to all of you who emailed me and me to "Just do it." I needed that
little extra push to make me take a nap, go shopping, and watch It's a
Wonderful Life with my wife.

I even took my nap on an ironing board between two chairs. That's adventure
sleeping.

I was hoping someone would catch that. It's an example of the very good
writing on the show. Just that one word says a lot.

Funny Floyd

2007-12-12 Thread John Foster
I've been watching the color episodes on TVLand the last couple weeks and you
always observe something new when you are watching the show for the 10,000th
time! Anyway, it struck me how for a relatively short period of time, Floyd
fills the spot of Barney as the one person that can make Andy really laugh or
at least seem at ease. I love those early episodes where it looks like Andy is
about to lose it during Don Knott's scenes. After Knotts is gone, we've all
noticed how Andy just isn't the same. But I've noticed recently that Floyd
fills that spot somewhat as Andy seems very relaxed and happy around Floyd in
many of the color episodes. As time goes on and Howard McNear becomes more ill
that changes, but for a time, it is really neat to see Andy and Floyd together.

Anyway, just an observation!

Best of luck to you and yours.

John F.

re: Jack Nicholson

2007-12-12 Thread Linn Family
Yes, Jack Nicholson was in more than one TAGS episode. He was in the episode
(I believe it was called Aunt Bee the Juror) where Aunt Bee was the lone woman
on a jury and Jack played the wrongly accused criminal. Aunt Bee didn't want
to convict him and all the men on the jury did. Jack's character ended up
being found innocent. The other episode he was in was the one where Opie and
Arnold found an abandoned baby (I believe it was called Opie Finds a Baby) on
the courthouse steps. They didn't want the baby to go to an orphanage so they
tried finding it a home. The real parents came to the court house to claim the
baby and the baby's father was played by Jack Nicholson. Hope this is what you
were looking for.
