The WBMUTBB Golden Door to Good Fellowship

Hey Folks,

I know we all enjoy the WBMUTBB Digest each day but some of you at one 
time asked me to make a place where you could visit in a more personal 
way so I created "The Golden Door to Good Fellowship" forum. 

Not many folks visit there and never have but I thought I'd give it 
another shot to see if there was interest.  The forum is not very much 
different than Mayberry's main forum, Miss Crump's Blackboard 
(http://www.tagsrwc.com/cgi-bin/crumpbb/YaBB.pl) so if feel free to 
visit Miss Crump's to see what I'm talking about. 

The only real difference is that there are WBMUTBB Chapter MEMBERS ONLY 
areas at the Golden Door. These "members only" areas can ONLY be seen by 
members of the WBMUTBB Digest.  The two Members Only areas are 
"Mrs.Wiley's Tea Party" for our single member to meet and visit and the 
"Fellowship Hall" for just plan ole visiting by any of our chapter 
members.  Neither of these areas can been seen or visited unless you are 
a registered WBMUTBB Chapter member.

If you're interested, you'll have to do a few things to get access to 
the Members Only areas of the Golden Door to Good Fellowship (GDTGF). 

* First, you must have signed up for an account on the GDTGF and be 
a user there.
* Second, you must be a member of WBMUTBB (your e-mail address is 
the key and you sign up using the same e-mail address there and at WBMUTBB).
* Finally, you must send an e-mail to the Forum Administrator 
(that's me) requesting access to the members only areas.

Whew...that sounds harder than it is. ha ha

Possum Day Parade

Mayor Pike wants the people of Mayberry to know he would feel honored to have 
an annual Possum Day celebration. He feels a farming town such as Mayberry is 
the perfect place for such an event. Perhaps we can have Fairchild assist 
Sheriff Taylor and Deputy Fife with securty so that a certain Mayor can not 
interupt the activities. We understand Roy Stoner thats S T O N E R is not too 
fond of bears.
 
Remember a Vote for Pike is a Vote for Mayberry, Keep the big city in Mt Pilot, 
not here where the people you'll find are friendly and kind.

Did everyone see a newspaper article where despite the recent massacre 
tragedy, the town was touted as being like Mayberry?  In light of this and 
other numerous references, I do believe we're overdue for a new dictionary 
entry:

Mayberry n. name of an iconic, fictionalized town; synonymous with peaceful 
living among loving people; often used as an adjective, as in "Mayberry 
quality of life." Origin: national public tv sitcom "The Andy Griffith 
Show," aired 1960-68, syndicated ever since. Note: diehard fans of the show 
often claim to be Mayberrians in their hearts and minds.

My BELOVED people of Mayberry..it is with great joy that I announce that 
you will be receiving a tax cut check this year thanks to a little discovery by 
your Mayor.  Married couples will be receiving $500 and single people will be 
receiving $300. Where does this money come from you ask? I have found a 
SUBSTANTIAL amount of "petty cash" left over from the Pike campaign that should 
have been used for you good people. Typical of Pike to do that. ( I have talked 
to my personal friend, the governor, and have been told that it's perfectly 
legal to share this money with you.) 
 
You should be receiving your checks within a month. Please do not call Sarah or 
Andrew for information as they are so busy. My door is always open to you.

I too recall seeing "Uncle Ollie" on the Beverly Hillbillies.  I also recently 
watched "The Absent Minded Professor" and "Uncle Ollie" played a policeman in 
that movie.  Ah, those Mayberry folks sure do get around!!

cars and newspapers

While watching the episode "Quiet Sam" last night I noticed something quite 
interesting.  The newspaper Andy is reading at the table at Sams' house is the 
"Mt. Airey Times"   
In "The Guitar Player Returns"  Though all of Mayberry drives on Fords;  Jim 
Lindsey is driving a Mercedes Sports Coupe.
In spite of seeing these shows hundreds of times, I had never noticed these 
things before.
