Taylor Home Inn Jail Paint

2008-03-29 Thread Ken Anderson
I vote for the brown color in the jail at the Taylor Home Inn. I do think
though that they should hire Newton Monroe to do the painting. I hear he is
ept now. I also think they should get Cousin Virgil to do the glass work
and also he could polish the keys.

Cable channels and Joe

2008-03-29 Thread jlj9675
Thanks for the info on Joe Shablotnick (sp); I thought someone just made up
the name; poor Charlie Brown! Also, thanks for the info on those new (old)
cable channels; I put in a request to my cable carrier as they are always
receptive to viewer input. I hadn't heard of those two before now! This
newsletter is a blessing in more ways than one!!!

TV Land's programming

2008-03-29 Thread Harriet Browder
If anyone remembers when Nick-at-Nite started they aired old shows like Make
Room For Daddy, The Donna Reed Show, Father Knows Best, Dennis The Menace.
Once they establiSHed a fan base, they switched to kids stuff and cartoons,
and TV Land was created. We know what happened there - same thing. Seems like
management's quality of mercy is definitely strained..A station you might
want to check out if your subscriber carries it is ALNTV (American Life TV -
134 on Bright House, Tampa Bay). Their line up is a little strange, but from
8pm to 10pm they run shows like Combat, Lost in Space, Time Tunnel, Mission
Impossible, Burke's Law, Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Newhart, Honeymooners.

I still say that Ernest T. Bass ought to go trick-or-treating with Charlie
Brown since he gets so many rocks.

Ordering DVDs

2008-03-29 Thread Janet Anderson
>>>I have been postponing ordering the TAGS DVD sets, but no longer. I would
also like to start ordering some DVDs from other great TV shows of the past
(Lucy, TV westerns, etc). Does anyone have any suggestions for quality web
sites to order from?<<<

Cheryl, I would definitely say to wait no longer. Get those TAGS DVDs! You
won't regret it. I have all eight seasons.

We have not had any form of TV for almost five years now. I would rather spend
money to build a DVD collection than to pay monthly cable or satellite charges.
About the only time I watch any TV is when I visit my parents, and I find I
just cannot tolerate commercials anymore! I love popping in one of my TAGS
DVDs and getting the whole show, uncut and without commercials, at whatever
time of day I'm able to sit down and watch.

Besides Weaver's for TAGS-related purchases, I recommend both Buy.com and
Amazon.com (both also offer free shipping). We have made numerous purchases
from both places and never have any problems. If you're looking for DVDs, I
would recommend doing comparison shopping. Also, if you compile wish lists and
then check on them regularly, you will find that prices fluctuate, sometimes
significantly. Being patient and watching can save you a lot of money. I have
gotten some great bargains this way.

If you want to comparison shop over a wider range of stores, try using
Campusi.com. You can run a search which will list results from lowest to
highest price, including shipping charges.

Hope this helps!

Ordering DVDs online

2008-03-29 Thread Janet Anderson
Sharon, I don't mean to offend, but I would question your recommendation of
www.tvdvdworld.tv. I took a look, and I would be
willing to bet that these DVDs are not authorized releases. For example, they
list "Cagney and Lacey," seasons one through seven for $68.99. However, I know
for a fact that only the first season of C&L has been released on DVD.
Therefore, this whole site becomes suspect in my eyes. Are these all bootleg
versions? I wouldn't want folks on this list to get burned by attempting to
order from an disreputable site. If you stick with places like Buy.com and
Amazon.com, you won't go wrong.

By the way, I checked for TAGS on this site. They don't have it, but they have
"Mayberry RFD," which I'm sure hasn't been released on DVD.
