Law enforcement loves Andy
Alan, I think I sent this in when the blog may have been down. If I just missed it my apology for the repeat. If not, here goes: Our local newspaper recently ran a story titled, Not Many Mayberrys: Patroling the countryside isn't what it used to be Here's the direct quotes from Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills: The department doesn't have a Web site. It does, however, boast a mobile command post - an extra-long, camper-style trailer - that sports an array state-of-the-art computers and communications gizmos. Also inside, a DVD collection: The Andy Griffith Show. They're the best training films that ever was, Sills says. Thank God I remember it. Because practically nobody that works here does. But I remember Mayberry. And nothing would make me happier than to go back to it. You can find the full story at http://www.macon.com/198/story/384923.html I'd be curious to hear of any other law enforcement people who have similar situations. Illegal U-Turn
I recently took my 11 year old daughter to spend a weekend with her older sister. While driving down the interstate, my daughter noticed a vehicle making a u-turn across the highway (one of those spots reserved for emergency vehicles only) and she said, Citizens Arrest. Illegal U-turn. Go ahead and write yourself a ticket. I love the fact that she is only 11 and is a true Andy Griffith fan. She is fast on her way to becoming a trained noticer!! ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Mayberry Union High Fight Song
Hi Guys, I have a question for all you Mayberry experts out there. What is the tune title and composer for the Mayberry Union High Fight Song? Was it original to the show or borrowed? Thanks for your help, Ken R. ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches
Sheriff Grady Judd has ordered no more peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to be served in his jail. The inmates will now get very thin lunchmeat instead. He said he will be saving the county $161,000.00. He also said, if the inmates didn't like it, then stay out of jail! To add to that, the St. Pete Times reported that Sheriff Grady also said You can eat anything you want in your own home. Good for him.it's barely possible that the idea he got might have come from the new Rules handed down by the Sheriff of Maricopa, Arizona. So that makes three sheriff's offices that prove it is definitely no fun when that steel door clangs shut.
