RE: replaced audio track

2008-12-01 Thread Hughes, Clyde L. (HSC)
Hey Paul,
I remember that the audio track during the county fair scene (stock
fair/carnival footage) in The Pickle Story was merry-go-round/calliope type
music in the versions that I taped from t.v. (or should I say quote 't.v.'?
haha). Can't seem to remember what is used on the new DVDs though.

That does remind me of the missing laugh tracks on some stories of the DVD
release of Season 4. I read online that all you had to do was to send your
proof of purchase to a certain address and that they would provide more info on
how to get a 'corrected' version of the DVDs, but I've not heard back from
Universal many months after doing so. Anyone have any leads on how to do that?

Thanks and Under and Roger,
Clyde Barn

17 years

2008-12-01 Thread GRITTON, JOE A (ATTOPS)
Thanks for marking this anniversary Allan.

I wish we could organize a parade in your honor. (convertibles, potato
queen, squad car, lady fingers, shrimp cocktail..the whole bit).

I wish we could make up a special medal for you..nothing gaudy, just
pure gold and large.

I know there must have been many times that you've felt like just
packing it in due to mechanical problems with servers/email or
disgruntled ungrateful members taking up your time complaining. I'm
sure at times we are all like Barney and his imaginary son.. Now if it
was my Email Service, this is what I would do...

In addition to the Digest, you have all the other stuff you deal with.
The websites that just keep growing etc.

This is obviously a labor of love, and well, we sure appreciate the
Love. (handkerchief out, blowing nose)

Thanks for all the year's I've been on..9 or so, and all the times
you've personally responded and helped me.

Thanks for assuring that this little bit of inspiration that we all look
forward to everyday continues to arrive, almost as dependable as the US
mail (You know you give somebody a mail-sack on their shoulder and it
just goes to their head)

And in the infamous word of Goober Way to go Allan..and you too Helen
(I mean Jan)

Thanks so much. Can't wait to see your Christmas Card this year.

The Untrained Voice and all the other loafers on the street.

Laugh Tracks

2008-12-01 Thread m white
TAGS fans,

Years ago, when the disks came out with the laugh tracks missing I wrote
Paramount and got my free laugh-track editions in short order. After comparing
the two, and after a little getting used to, I think I've decided I prefer
the laugh-track-free versions. Wish you could get all the shows like that!

I have a new parakeet to replace Buddy who lived a long and enjoyable life-
my new one is named Barney - both in honor of great jazz guitarist Barney
Kessel and our own Deputy Bernard P. Fife! When he's acting extra sporty and
hopping from perch to perch I call him Big Barn...

Congratulations, Alan, on seventeen years of bringing Mayberry to us! I'll
definitely chip in for the gold watch with the 17 on it, and I have a cake all
baked for you - with jelly beans on the top. I think we should have a
celebration - with dancing and japanese lanterns - and a door prize!

You're a prince!!

I don't have any pets named after a Mayberry character, but I do have a niece I
nicknamed Otis. When Becky (her real name :) was first learning to walk, I
jokingly said that she walked crooked just like Otis from the Andy Griffith
Show did. She is nearly 18 years old now and I still call her Otis. I work
part time at our local school so when I see my niece there, I make sure to call
her Becky. Otherwise, it's Otis.

I had an orange tabby cat, Opie. He joined my household when he was six
weeks old, and he was euthanized last year on October 29, left me after 19
1/2 years. It was quite a change without him, but my outside kitties have
helped immensely, especially Mayberry, my calico with an attitude. :)

Re: Sheriff in RFD

2008-12-01 Thread beastooge
No one replaced Andy.?

?-? Sheriff Taylor was still in Mayberry for the first half of RFD season 1.
?-? In the first episode of season 2, Andy's Baby, we learn that Andy and
Helen have moved to Charlotte NC, where Andy is a State Investigator.
?-? Later in season 2, in the episode The Caper, we learn that Goober is
employed as a part-time deputy, and Mayberry contracts with the State Police.

MAYBERRY RFD is not on DVD.? Warner Bros. has the home video rights, and
currently has no plans to market the show.? (Any RFD discs you see for sale are
bootleg, recorded off edited-for-syndication reruns.)

...since Andy and Helen left Mayberry in 1969, but Sam, Howard, Emmett, and
Goober stayed around,
did they ever show who replaced Andy as Sheriff on Mayberry RFD? TV Land does
not show reruns
of Mayberry RFD and I have not purchased the DVD's as of yet so I do not know
the answer to this
 question.
