Old lady

2009-08-06 Thread (Ted)Theodoric of York
Does anyone know the name of the actress who played the liitle-old-lady
shoplifter at Weavers? I think I have seen her on Little House on the
Prairie.

TVLand

Thanks to Scott for posting the link to Mayberry Town Hall. I completely
agree about this issue. TVLand is spiraling into the depths of depravity
and it sickens me too!

Security Check

2009-08-06 Thread Ken Anderson
Our neighborhood pharmacy announced it is closing this weekend due to
security problems. It was robbed at gunpoint twice in the last few years.
I am thinking about offering my services. I could put on my Barney uniform
and go down their several times a day and do a security check. I have also
been considering getting myself a complete Asa outfit and apply for a
security guard position if they would agree to stay open. I didn't have any
problems finding things for my Barney uniform. I even found a bullet with
no problems. However, it might be a real challenge to find some green moldy
bullets if I decide to do an Asa.

Mayberry Days Silent Auction

2009-08-06 Thread Jeff Koontz
As Welford pointed out, Mayberry Days will be here before we know it, so I'll
introduce to our new members and remind the rest of us about the WBMUTBB Silent
Auction - our 10th year! This is the annual service project of our internet
TAGSRWC chapter that is fund raising event to benefit the Surry Arts Council's
efforts to host Mayberry Days. The Silent Auction is held on Saturday of the
festival from 10:00 a.m. to Noon in front of the Andy Griffith Playhouse.

Through the years, talented and creative members of our chapter have donated
Mayberry related things to the auction - handmade items, memorabilia,
autographed items, and special one-of-a-kind things. It has been a little
slower this year (for obvious reasons), but we do have some nice items to date
and welcome more. Donated items are tax deductible as a donation to a
non-profit organization and all the proceeds go to the Surry Arts Council.

There are three ways to help - donating an item, donating your time, and
bidding on auction items. If you do not feel creative, you can help prepare for
and during the auction. It is only a couple hours and gives you a chance to
visit with people and help out others. Bidding is from 10 a.m. to Noon and you
must be present at the end to claim your item.

I just got a nice call from our favorite County Clerk (aka Jeff Branch) with a
great autographed poster donation from this weekend's Mayberry in Troy event
(tickets are still available and it will be another great show!).

If you have something to donate, have a question, or want more specific
information, please send me an email at hey2goo...@yahoo.com. I thank each of
you who have helped in the previous years and hope you will be able to help
again. Even more I encourage others to get involved as well. This is a fun way
to help and spend time getting to know fellow Digest members in person.
