Congrats
Jed, Congratulations to you and your beloveded! I know what every songs you choose, your wedding will bring you lots of warm memories. I was thinking (but not with a bucket on my head like Gomer) about the song Andy and Peggy sang on the front porch and if I am not mistaken it was: Down in the Valley. I may be wrong and if I am I know there are others here who will help you out. Steve, you and I are alike in that the line old Barn says about the women at Mrs. Wiley's party being dogs cracks me up too. I think the thing that makes it so hilarious for me is that Andy really cracks up when Barney makes that comment, he really found it hilarious. Lots of luck to you and yours... looks
I don't want to start a moulage, but it always disheartens me when lines about folks' looks or lack thereof come up. All of us can't be born pretty; those of us not so blessed often suffer humiliation and unkind behavior. IMHO those lines, as well as when Barney said he'd rough up some girl, were downright mean-spirited and in poor taste, to say the least. song
Does anybody know the lyrics to the song Barney made up to the Frankie and Johnnie? It was about him and Andy. Andy sneeked up behind him while he was singing it and supplied the closing lyrics. -- Ted http://image30.webshots.com/30/7/71/17/231177117EjadLZ_fs.jpg (Theodoric of York) ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Wedding Memories
All of this talk about Jed's upcoming nuptials reminds me of my wedding day. I was just starting out teaching so didn't have much money. One of my students had a father who was the justice of the peace so he came over one noon hour and performed the ceremony in my classroom. I took my wife down to the cafeteria for the reception. Over 300 kids showed up. We had some of the best tasting corn dogs and beans that I ever had. Right after school we boarded a bus and headed to Arkansas. Not the state of Arkansas, but the town of Arkansas in Wisconsin. I volunteered to chaperone a bus to a football game and I figured the extra money would help pay for the cruise we were going on the next day. Besides, my new wife had never been to a real live football game. Yes, I said cruise. I borrowed my neighbor's canoe and we floated down the Chippewa River for about twenty miles. So Jed, a bit of advice. Get off to a good start like I did and your bride will stick with you forever. My wife and I are still together after 39 years.
