Fish for Breakfast
I must admit that I have never heard of anyone having fish for breakfast... Paul Mulik Paul, Here's an interesting instance of someone eating fish for breakfast. Jesus said to them, 'Come and have breakfast'...Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and so with the fish. John 21:12, 13 In the Service of the King, Larry J. Fish for breakfast
While it is not a common breakfast meal here in the U.S., my British son-in-law of 14 years, tells me kippers (herring) and eggs is a classic English breakfast. I Googled “kippers and eggs” and he’s right as rain. Herring is, of course, an ocean fish-and probably would not have been the kind Andy would have prepared for breakfast. Now that I think about it, a pan fried trout and scrambled eggs sounds really good for breakfast. Ken in NC ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/

Fish for Breakfast
Fish for breakfast? Sure! Grew up on a farm in Virginia back in the '40s and many times we had fish for breakfast. Why not?? It is good, sweet, nourishing, easily fixed, and if you get fillets there is no leftover to contend with!! My mother was especially good at fixing Whiting and I sure would love to go back about 70 years to have another helping of italong with her pan of cornbreadBatterbread we had for breakfast almost EVERY day of the year!! Slice it open, put a slab of real homemade butter in it and let it melt and soak in, and Yum Yum!! So fish for breakfast? Sure!! And one last thing...we didn't eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. That was a northern thang! Southerners ate Breakfast, Dinner and Supper. So if I say y'all come for dinner, and you show up at 5PM all the food will have been et a long time ago!! Fish for Breakfast
Fish grits for breakfast. A southern tradition! At least in my part of the south. My mama would be more than satisfied to eat leftover fish from the night before for breakfast. Barney's sidecar (almost)
I was back home visiting my parents this past week, and today (Saturday) I went to the Pottery Festival in Clay City. (For those who don't know, Clay City, Indiana, is the Mayberry of the Midwest.) At the park was a nice car show. I like old cars, so I looked at all the cars and took many pictures. In among the cars was an old motorcycle with a sidecar. I don't know if this one was used during World War I (there was no wooden plaque with a message burned into with a bayonet tip, so I couldn't tell), but it sure was in a heap better shape than Barney's motorcycle. It was real spiffy, and it didn't even need any oilcloth to cover the seat. I think Andy would have been proud to ride in this one!
