Mayberry moment
A Mayberry moment. I was leaving the house the other evening and my husband was reclining in his recliner. I went in to tell him good-bye and give him a quick kiss. However, I decided that either I would have to reach him or he would have to raise the chair up. So, I just stuck my hand out and shook hands with him. Hubby says "We just shook hands on our deal." Matlock
Ten things I've learned from watching Matlock every day. 1. An investigator can get hired on any job regardless of experience 2. You can break into any house or building with a credit card 3. When two people get into an argument one of them will die 4. It takes several attempts to start a car, but only if the driver is being chased 5. an investigator can watch a shady deal go down from 30 feet just by sitting in his car 6. No matter how many miles or how many turns a suspect makes in his car he will never notice he is being followed 7. Several bullets can be shot into a speeding car but it only takes one to blow up a helicopter 8. no matter how busy a bar room is there is always an empty stool right in front of the bartender 9. a man will show no pain when getting slugged several times but will wince when someone tries to clean the wound 10. When using a computer a person can type at lightning speed and never need to hit the space bar Vic Friskey ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Opie and Adults
I was born 1960 so was raised in the 60's and 70's down here in Cajun country Louisiana. We called adults "Miss Emily" or "Mr. Amadee" and not "Mrs Cormier" or "Mr. Marsiglia". My mama did too. Had I been in Mayberry it would have been "Mr. Floyd" or "Deputy Fife". I never understood Opie's calling adults by just a first name no matter how close a friend they were to his Paw. Miss Crump
Miss Crump. Thank you Ms. Elizabeth. That makes sense. I grew up in New York and Connecticut calling older people by Mrs. and Mr. and even into my 20's. That's just how it was done. Then anyway. Miss Patty Rocklin ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
