Aunt Bee Eating Out
While eating in a restaurant on Friday night I got to thinking about when Aunt Bee was shown eating in a restaurant. I can only come up with three times. One was when she and Emma were eating lunch in the drugstore when the shoe salesman came in. Then she was seen eating spaghetti with Professor St. John. The only other time I recall her eating in a restaurant was when Goober took them out to the fancy restaurant in Raleigh. Now of course Aunt Bee bought the Chinese restaurant, but we never actually see her eating there. Andy talked about taking her and Opie to the Chinese restaurant in Mt. Pilot but we never saw them there. Now as I recall from my own time in the sixties, eating out was a very special treat, and I actually do not recall ever going out to eat in a restaurant with my family. In high school we would go to some of the cafes for cokes and French fries, but never for a full meal with my family. Having a ball
Keith got SKEE BALL, which is what I was hinting out when I said someone played it out of town with a relative, and also MINIATURE GOLF, which most folks would agree is distinctly different from regular old golf. I had forgotten about the miniature golf reference. Sorry Ken, but ogling girls with one's eyeballs is not exactly a game. If I counted that I'd have to count every game that required eyesight. And I've never heard of the sport of cannon shooting, but you may be on the right track. Lastly, Malcolm Merriweather never mentions the sport of cricket in any episode. There is, however, still one more game in that family (it involves bases) that hasn't been mentioned. Paul Mulik ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
The ball game.
I recall many mentions and an actual "bowling ball" tournament "! Sent from my Verizon Wireless 4G LTE smartphone ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Yet Two More Games Played with a Ball
I thunk of another ball game in Mayberry. Cannon Ball shooting. Remember when Goober and Warren hit the station wagon with a cannon ball when shooting off the cannon. Also how about Girl Watching with Fred Pruitt and the Darling boys. They used their "eye balls". And believe me watching girls is a fun game. -- Ken Anderson The Mayberry Guru 2906 May Street Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701 www.themayberryguru.com www.mayberryreflections.com ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
more balls

balls
Barney and Thelma Lou spoke of a girl's softball team. (Which is slightly different from baseball) Also I believe Malcolm spoke of cricket matches. One more thing I would like to add. Many have mentioned basketball in regards to Andy and Opie, but Aunt Bee said she and Clara were on the same basketball team. ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Having A Ball
An ellipseoid? An oblate spheroid? Wow, Orville, your education was worth every penny. Nobody mentioned miniature golf. This was in the episode where Goober took out cousin Gloria.
