Bible Study
Been a while since I posted, but can anyone point me to a location where I can find the bible study lessons for TAGS? Seems I remember seeing them somewhere before, but the location escapes me now It's probably just the light... Product placement / brand names
I have thought of a few real brand names mentioned on TAGS, maybe some others can think of more. Three that come to mind are the Hudson Terraplane, the REO Flying Cloud, and the Ford sedan that Barney buys from Mrs. Lesch. The first two had gone out of production many years before, so there was no concern of giving unintentional free advertising, and since Ford supplied cars for The Andy Griffith Show, practically every car seen in Mayberry was a Ford product (though the brand name was only ever uttered that once on screen, as I recall). Barney once mentions "frozen Sunny Jim bars" and while there was a peanut butter of that name, it's unclear if this is a reference to that product. Perhaps he was talking about something like Popsicles. Floyd mentions a soda called "Nectarine Crutch" (yes, "crutch," listen closely) which was onviously inspired by Orange Crush. Over the years Crush has been made in just about every fruit flavor imaginable, but not nectarine. One other brand name mentioned is my favorite board game, Scrabble. Paul Mulik P. S. For a hilarious and satirical take on product placement, see The Truman Show (1998). ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
