Alumni Sighting

2015-06-04 Thread Cheryl Langille
I just finished watching a movie called "Framed". It had Edgar Buchanan aka Mr.
Wheeler in it. I won't say who else was in the movie, but he was really Glen
Fordin' it all over the place.

The Meaning of the Name Bernard

2015-06-04 Thread Ken Anderson
·Your name *Bernard* gives you a strong sense of responsibility in
business and material affairs, and the practicality and determination to
make a success of anything you undertake.

·Your ability to organize and direct the efforts of others enables
you to excel in any managerial position because you have the ability to
grasp the concept of a goal complete with an understanding of the steps to
be taken.

·This name has allowed you to develop depth and breadth of mind.

·You are able to retain facts, to grasp new information to your
existing store of knowledge.

·You never seem to be out of your depth of understanding.

·For these reasons others who may not have the same quickness of
mind classify you as a "know it all" and, although you may be highly
respected, this characteristic is unlikely to endear you to your associates.

·You have a very responsible nature, are capable and mature, and
are willing to assume a position as a pillar of the community.

·You are quite healthy, but possible trouble areas are found in the
generative organs.

·Although the name *Bernard* creates the urge to be reliable and
responsible, it can cause an unscrupulous, materialistic approach that
frustrates higher humanitarian qualities.

·This name, when combined with *certain last names*, can frustrate
happiness, contentment, and success, as well as cause health weaknesses in
the reproductive system, worry, and mental tension.

Earnest T

2015-06-04 Thread Chimppuppy
Funny thing happened to me today while shopping for bolts at Grainger. I
needed a specific type of bolt not many places carry, so i decided to look on
Graingers site to see if they carried them...it's a 1/2"bolt with a "T"
instead of a hex head. Anyway, when i found what I was looking for, i wrote
the item # down and called grainger, told the person the item # and he
confirmed : 50 1/2" Earnest T Bolts.
I said what, and i looked at the description and it said Earnest T Bolts.
Made my day! Check it out at graingeritem # 36G214

One possibility is they cooked the fish and ate them right
after catching them. Or maybe they were too little, so they threw them back
(sportsmen all the way).

Having grown up in the 50's and 60's, I do indeed
recall how it was in those days. While it is true that no one expected a
reward for doing the right thing, like returning Parnell Rigsby's purse, people
also did the right thing by offering to give the person a reward. After
thanking Andy for the return of the purse, the next words out of Parnell's mouth
should have been an offer of a reward, at least repayment of the gas that it
took to bring the money all the way from Mayberry to Bannertown.

I can well
recall in my mind the dance that was done many times between my Dad and the
neighbors.Dad would help the neighbors work their cattle, or harvest a crop,
or some such. At the end of the day the neighbor would offer to pay Dad
something.Dad would refuse his offer of payment. The more they offered,
the more he refused. Dad expected the same of his children. If we ever
thought of taking money for helping the neighbors, he would have tanned our
hydes.

Had a triple alumni sighting on this morning's
episode of Perry Mason on MeTV. In the small town of Logan City, where Perry
Mason goes to defend his client, Mr. Foley (Frank Ferguson) is the Sheriff, Mr.
Wheeler (Edgar Buchanan) was the Judge, and Jesslyn Fax was also there as the
court reporter.

Probably no one remembers Jesslyn Fax, she is a really
obscure TAGS Alumni. In the TAGS show "Andy's Investment" she

Things That Don't Make Sense

2015-06-04 Thread DAVID QUINN

 Things that don't make sense.

We know that Mayberry was a small town.We could see it with our eyes and
people spoke of it.

However, when Goober goes for his first date with Lydia, he walks up to her
house and the house number on her door is 598. There would have to be a
whole lot of houses in that block for her house to be numbered 598.I live
in a small town of less than 10,000 people, and on almost all of our blocks the
houses start with 00, like 500, 600, etc.The last house on that block is
never more that 20 or 30 something. Most of the time the numbers move by
2's.902, 904, 906.It would take almost every house in Mayberry to go
from 500 to 598.
