Charlie Lee

2015-09-09 Thread Scott Washburn
I have often thought of quitting my job and moving to Pittsburgh to learn
how to cook Chinese dishes like Charlie Lee. I wonder if "Aunt Bee's Canton
Palace" needs someone to wait table since Jack bought out Aunt Bee.

I just hope Jack & Charlie didn't end up adding spaghetti to the menu.

Battle of Mayberry

2015-09-09 Thread Scott Washburn
Opie's essay submission to the newspaper telling the "real story" of the
Battle of Mayberry has always been a sore spot within my family. After the
governor's radio address, I forgave him but most of my family is still
upset to this day. My grandfather and great uncle were both colonels in the
militia and were the main heroes of the battle...don't believe any other
versions you hear!

Mayberry Businesses

2015-09-09 Thread Brian Kaufman
Would Burt's Stand be considered a business in Mayberry?  I realize Burt's
Stand was very short lived, but it sure generated plenty of business until Ben
Weaver at Weaver's Department Store undercut Burt's prices and gave away all
that bubblegum.

Mayberry Businesses

2015-09-09 Thread Harriet Browder
Without listing every business in The Mayberry Yellow Pages I'll just let Sara
say this.
There are 4 listed that start with an A. 5 with B. 6 with C. 8 with D. 2 with
E. 9 with F. 4 with G. 8 with H. 3 with J. 1 with k. 5 with L. 24 with M (14
with Mayberry). 5 with N. 1 with O. 13 with P. 2 with R. 8 with S. 2 with T. 1
with U. 5! With W. 1 with Y. And there you have the scoop on Mayberry
Businesses. We can skip the splashes from floor and pool.
Brought to you by Ken Beck and Jim Clark, more than 100 businesses. Not that
small of a town.

Two Chairs No Waiting 343: Ronnie Schell - Mayberry Squad Car Rendezvous
1996

Two Chairs No Waiting - Andy Griffith Show Podcast can be found at
http://www.TwoChairsNoWaiting.com

Ronnie Schell played the character Duke Slater on Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C. but
he was also on The Andy Griffith Show twice. The first time he played
director Jim Martin in the episode The Foster Lady then about two years
later he played "Bernie the furrier" in Emmett's Anniversary. Ronnie is a
true friend to Mayberry fans everywhere and has been at many Mayberry
events to share the love with the fans.

This interview took place at the 1996 Mayberry Squad Car Rendezvous in
Bradford, OH and was broadcast live by “Good Morning Mayberry” on
Cincinnati’s WMOH 1450AM radio. The show was on every Saturday morning from
10am to noon back in the 1990’s. Host Mark “Golden” Richards and Dennis
Hasty do an amazing job.

Enjoy!
