Again the great episode with Ron Howard and James Best...but  poor James... 
he gets killed again!! Great episode.
and do you realize in a recent rating by a well known  publication Gunsmoke 
was listed 98 and at 48 was Beavis and Butthead!! And TAGS  was not listed 
at all in the top 100!  Wonder who did that poll, must have  been Henry 
Bennett!!

Have any of you heard about the push to get a Mayberry license plate issued for 
NC?  Shazzam!   This guy needs at least 500 NC drivers to commit to get this 
underway. Pass this to everyone you know who lives in NC. It would make Andy, 
Barney and the gang proud, so proud, not to mention us!

Animals in Mayberry

Birds, owl, buzzard, elephant (a foot at least), snake, grasshopper, frog, 
chickens, chicken hawk, whale, baboon, ants, fox, ducks, pig. There are many 
more but my bucket just caved in on me.

This subject may have been discussed before but in a discussion with one of
my cats (call me crazy) he wanted to know what animals were seen or
mentioned over the years in Mayberry. I recall dogs, cats, horses, cows,
fish and a possum. Are there any others? I explained to my cat the episode
of a mother cat on the roof and he would not want to see his mother on the

The Mayberry Debuty

I had the privilege of meeting "The Mayberry Deputy" David Browning this 
weekend at our local electric cooperative meeting.  After he wrote me a 
citation, I told him I was a member of WBMUTBB.  We talked for a while and 
shared some laughs.  His talk with the crowd was "Big, really Big".  He helped 
give out the door prizes and had everyone laughing (especially when he danced 
like Barney while the school band performed).  Out of all of the people in 
attendance that day, David came over and sit with me during the meeting.  We 
talked about his time touring with Don Knotts, Mayberry Days, and of course 
Allan Newsome and Ken Anderson.
