Say, I been seein' smoke comin' out of my woods down near the  creek,
'specially when the moon is shinin' bright!  And the strangest thang  I ever 
seed
... a couple of chickens come a'wand'rin outta the woods lookin'  like they
was totally smashed! You reckon Otis has been back in the woods  runnin'
off a batch o'shine agin? Or mebbe Rafe but I think Rafe got a medicine
machine down on his farm so don't need mine, less'n Andy 'n Barney been after
him again and he had to move operations!
Wonder if rubbin some a'that medicine on the bottoms of my  feets would
keep 'em from hurtin' so much??? Worth a try!

Able and Baker

When in boot camp we had to learn the alphabet by names to  make the 
letters more recognizable. We learned Able, Baker, Charlie, Dog, Easy,  Fox, 
George, How, Item, Jig, King, Love, Mike, Nan, Oboe, Peter, Queen, Roger,  
Sugar, 
Tare, Uncle, Victor, Willie, Yankee, Zebra.  The radar plane  squadron was 
the VW2 and the planes were WV2 or as we call them to this day, Willie 
Victors.
So it seems it was referring not by the name but by first,  second, third, 
etc.
