TAGS without Barney

2020-11-14 Thread m white
TAGS fans,
I was thinking about the recent posts about Andy's evolution as a character,
especially as to how different the show was after Barney left. It occurred to
me that (somewhat ironically) a similar story is "Happy Days" in that it was
never the same after Richie (played by TAGS-alum Ron Howard) left. And,
personally, I never cared as much for MASH after Henry Blake left, either.

Disappointed

2020-11-14 Thread Joe
My wife is a big fan of the Hallmark Channel, so when I saw a promo for one
of their new Christmas movies called "Christmas With the Darlings", it
really got my hopes up. I thought maybe somehow they made a movie about
the next generation of our favorite Darling family celebrating Christmas.
So I went to look up the plot on the Hallmark website, and of course was
disappointed - nothing to do with the TAGS Darling family. Oh well.
(Although it is curious that of all the possible family names they could've
picked, someone chose the Darling name).

I guess Andy liked Tales of Wells Fargo as so many from that show were also on
his show. Col. Harvey, Aunt Bee, Brisco, The cop in charge of The Manhunt, Luke
Comstock, plus others.
The one scene really catching my attention was the day a whole family who sang
and played came to town on a wagon! Could that have given the idea for the
Darlings? Possibly!!
