Monday afternoon I was home and watched the Dude goes West with Eddie Albert. Cute movie. In it Eddie Albert plays Daniel Bone or Daniel Boone and while strumming his guitar he sings Juanita and Old Dan Tucker. Reminded me of Barney singing Juanita and Andy and Opie singing Old Dan Tucker. Have a Blessed Mayberry day! Dinner - Bailey's Bad Boy
Often church is 11 to noon. They went back to the courthouse and Aunt Bee went to the house to get dinner ready. A. Otis is still asleep because he's sleeping off a drunk - it is only 1:50 pm and he probably got in late from drinking B. Barney probably didn't have time to read the comics before church so reading after church while waiting for Andy (who probably spent time chatting with folks after the service) C. Andy and Barney would both be dressed up because they would have just finished attending church. D. As others have pointed out - dinner is the mid day meal for many people E. They are closing now because its Sunday and they take the day off. They probably would have closed earlier but Otis was there. F. Last night I visited a church that we will soon be attending and the pastor announced I was a visitor and stopped and said every time I think of you and your husband I think of The Andy Griffith Show because of your last name. I always think of the episodes with Mr. O'Malley (O'Malley is our last name). He asked if that bothered me and I laughed and told him I LOVE TAGS so that was perfectly great with us. After church several members stopped by to talk about their favorite episodes of TAGS. I think we will fit right in with this church!
