Update from MAYBERRY ON MAIN

2007-12-04 Thread The Miles'

Just checking in to say hello to everyone.  We have had a great Christmas time
so far here in everybody's hometown "Mayberry" Mount Airy.   We had the
Christmas parade on Sunday and the tree lighting on Thursday evening.  Betty
Lynn was at the tree lighting and said she enjoyed it very much.  She threw the
switch to light the tree.  Darrel and I were able to visit with her for a
little bit and she said that everything was going well with her.  She looked
great and it was (as always) a pleasure to talk with her.  We have a few
pictures on our website, if you want to check them out at
www.mayberryonmain.com .

Many thanks and Merry Christmas to all.  Come see us in Mount Airy or on the
web.

2007-11-23 Thread The Miles'

Thanks to Roger for shopping in Mount Airy!  The little town is pretty busy
this time of year.  One new thing is Floyd's Barber Shop has a new door on the
front of his shop.   You can see it on our live cam @ mayberryonmain.com.

Also, we sell the Danny Thomas Shop DVD that has the pilot episode.  Aunt Bee
can vouce for us.  We're reputable.

Many thanks and happy holidays to all.

update from MAYBERRY ON MAIN

2007-11-12 Thread The Miles'

Hope everyone is well.  Per many requests, we would like to update our Mayberry
family on a few things going on with us and the goings on in our wonderful
Mayberry town/Mount Airy.

Russell Hiatt / Floyd's City Barber Shop is doing well.   Still cutting hair
and taking pictures with the Mayberry fans.  Fans are amazed at his good humor
and never ending love towards them.

Charles Dowell / Snappy Lunch is doing well.  Fans are so pleased to meet him
and have their picture taken with him when they go to Snappy Lunch for their
pork chop sandwiches.

Emmett Forrest is doing well.  He is pleased to finally have his wonderful
collection of Andy Griffith and Mayberry memorabilia displayed at the  Andy
Griffith Playhouse thanks to the Surry Arts Council.  Emmett checks in on us
here at MAYBERRY ON MAIN, on  occasion and we are always glad to see him.  He's
a prince!

Betty Lynn has been in newspapers across the country, regarding her move to
Mount Airy.  We see her occasionally and she seems very happy and loves all of
us fans.

The Mount Airy News' editor Andy Matthews wrote in his column today, 11/12 that
Andy Griffith is working on a new movie called ... Play the Game ...  He also
mentions that Andy Griffith underwent hip surgery in September of this year,
after a fall.   This might explain some recent news reports of Andy Griffith
being in ill health.    He is California now, doing the movie, so that is great
news.  Anyway, it is a  informative and a complimentary editorial by the Mount
Airy News.  We aren't sure if you can get online and see it or not.

We, are doing well. and have had a wonderful time meeting all the Mayberry fans
that come to visit us in Andy's Hometown.  If you are ever in our area, please
stop and visit with us across from Floyds and Snappy Lunch.  Our daughter
Samantha, gave the " Mayberry Cruise" in October rave reviews.  Of course, how
can you go wrong with a wonderful group of Mayberry Fans and the fun of the
Mayberry Stars and " Mayberry Tribute Artists".  Mayberry Cruise #3 is being
planned for 2008.  We will keep you posted and pass along info as it comes in.

Best wishes to all and if we can ever help anyone, we would be glad to.    Call
us toll free at # 1-877-Ernest T or visit our website www . mayberryonmain .com
.

Keep a good thought, Darrel & Debbie Miles/ MAYBERRY ON MAIN

2008-12-30 Thread The Miles'

Hey to everyone.   We asked the Mount Airy Post Office "why isn't there an Andy
Griffith stamp?  Tommy - he always puts the Mayberry Days postmark in our book
every year - told Darrel, that would be a bad thing if there was one right
now.  They only put people that have "passed on" on US Postage Stamps.

Hope everyone has a Happy New Year.   Come see us at MAYBERRY ON MAIN in 2009

Aunt Bee's grave-site

2010-10-06 Thread The Miles'
Hello to all,

We visited the grave-site of Francis Bavier (our beloved Aunt Bee) in Siler
City, NC.
If you look at our website www . mayberryonmain .com - click on event pictures

grandson/Gregory - notice spelling of Aunt Bee - it is Aunt Bee on her
tombstone.

The BBQ restaurant in town (Mount Airy) is spelled Aunt Bea's.

Hope this helps some with the spelling of Aunt Bee.

Thanks to all of our friends and fans that came, visited and shopped with us on

Update from Mayberry On Main

2011-01-23 Thread The Miles'
Thanks to all who came for our "Mayberry Day" in Mount Airy on Saturday.
Special thanks to our favorite Mayberry Drunk - Otis Campbell aka Kenneth
Junkin, who came up from Alabama, just for our event. He livened up the place
and made lots of fans smile for photo ops. We had lots of fun and good trivia
contests and door prizes. Hope anyone who missed the fun, will come to visit
when they are in Andy's hometown - we always have something going on.

True story to Ken Anderson. We had a call come into our shop one day, a lady
wanted to order some things. After I took her order, I asked her for her
shipping information, she game me her last name, CRUMP - C - R - U - M - P ! At
that point, I thought, this is a jokefrom one of our "humorous
friends".but, no, it was the real thing, but her first name wasn't
Helen. It was great

We recently, here in Mount Airy, rec'd our 2011 Phone Directory. Out of the 95
pages in our phone book, there are 3 Crumps - C-R-U-M-P 's listed.

Hope you enjoyed these trivial trivialities.

MY MIND JUST WORKS THAT WAY

2012-05-27 Thread The Miles'
Hey from Mayberry On Main;
We were playing patriotic cd's in the shop for Memorial Day weekend and
I was reading the cover to "God Bless America".on the back it reads
great soundtrack, more than two centuries in the making, so grab you drum and
fife and join the patriotic parade! .. so grab you drum and
fifefifespelled the same as our Barney Fife got me to
thinkingwhat does that mean? Looked it up and just look at the type of
instrument that a fife is.
Fife (instrument) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Fife _(instrument) A fife is a small, high-pitched,
transverse flute that is similar to the piccolo, but louder and shriller due to
its narrower bore. The fife originated in medieval Europe ..

I think the definition describes our Barney pretty well. What do you think?

Have a Happy Memorial Day and God Bless America!

Hey Friends

2012-09-20 Thread The Miles'
Hi all!
Hope everyone is getting "keyed up" to come to Mount Airy for Mayberry Days. We
can't wait to see everyone.

When you come to see us at MAYBERRY ON MAIN, we have a quote for you to tell us
at the checkout, and you will receive a free gift with your purchase. This is
exclusive to our WBMUTBB nuts! :)

The quote is - - "you ever seen them come out so even ?" - This is a great line
from "The Manicurist" episode. If you perform the hand gesture that Andy does
while saying this, you will get an extra bonus gift. :)

Also, please make a point to "Like" our facebook page, if you have not already,
for an additional surprise for our wonderful friends on there as well!

For those that aren't able to make the trip, we will miss you, but all is not
lost. one secret tip we have for our friends on WBMUTBB is - check out the
website http://www.fastlinkcommunications.com. On the left hand side, you will
see "LIVE CAMS", and that will give you the option of two different live
webcams in downtown Mount Airy! You can watch the parade on Saturday morning
and possibly see our wonderful guests, including our famous tribute artists,
that make things so much fun for all of us.

Thanks and Happy Motoring!

Many thanks to all the tribute artists for making the festival fun for us
here at our shop, but also fun for the fans.   Fans all year come in to our
shop wanting to see the "characters" so they can mingle with them.   You all
make it special.you're nice, real nice.   Thanks for all your time and
effort - we 'preciate it!

Thanks for all the friends and Mayberry family that came in and visited with
us.   It is so great to see everyone again.

Special thanks to Welford the Camera Nut's post on Monday.   We appreciate his
kind words and relay our thanks to all who keep us going, living the dream of
"Mayberry".

All the best to you and yours,

Darrel, Debbie & Samantha Miles
