RE: Digest, Vol 13 Issue 89, G-Men

2012-03-30 Thread rcm999

IMDB does list the movie  "G-Men".  It's from 1935 and stars James Cagney,
Margaret Lindsay, and Ann Dvorak.  I have a copy in my collection.  Glenn Ford
does not star in the movie.

I grew up in NC calling them "Spring Onions". I never ate them, but instead I
just lopped off the tops when I mowed the grass.

Re: Andy's badge

2006-12-11 Thread rcm999
What you see on the cover-art is a result of a composite shot. The images are
in fact reversed, as noted by Andy's hair and his badge. You'll note too,
Opie's hair and the direction of the buttoning of Goober's shirt. The
background is a drawing only, not a photo. But what you see in that one final
image is a result of overlays.

Either that or the Count or Henry Bennett has done went and hexed it!

Mayberry and Star Trek

2006-09-08 Thread rcm999
I hope this makes the digest in time: Tonight at 8:00 (CST) on TVLand, an
episode of Star Trek ("The City on the Edge of Forever") will be shown. This
episode was filmed on the 40 acre lot where TAGS was filmed, and supposedly the
buildings are easily recognized, including Floyd's barber shop.

I'm gonna get me some cashew fudge and a bottle of pop and tune in!

Re: Rafe Hollister expletive?

2006-02-08 Thread rcm999
There sure has been a lot of controversy over the seemingly Rafe Hollister
expletive. I hope this will put a new light on it. Growing up, my dad would
sometimes answer a question or make a statement beginning with “Well” and the W
would be soft or silent, like Randy Moffett described. Now, he’d be happy or
excited and combine the "(W)ell" with a bit of a chuckle or laugh (Heh-heh).
Now, put those two together and there you have it. Could THAT be what we’re
all hearing from Rafe?
