Trivia Brother Question
Here is a new trivia question I thunk up for you good folks: Name a person who lives in Mayberry County whose brother is seen on screen in an episode of TAGS. I think Lucy Matthews would be a correct answer. Her brother Bill is seen in the 'Stranger in Town' episode. Trivia Question
"There are many people who are never mentioned on TAGS who we have never seen in any episodes and who nave never been even mentioned by name. Name all the TAGS characters who have no name and have never appeared or been mentioned in any TAGS episodes." Well, if they've never been seen in any episode, have no names, and have never even been mentioned on TAGS, yet they are TAGS characters...the answer would have to be NONE. How could there be a TAGS character that has never been mentioned on TAGS? Sarah and Juanita wouldn't qualify because they both have names and both have been mentioned many times on TAGS. Maybe I'm not understanding the question. rehay e-mail: re...@zoomtown.com ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Mary Grace
RIP Mary Grace. I had the privilege of presenting Mary Grace Canfield with a corsage when I met her about 15 years ago. She's probably received many of them since her appearance on TAGS. I'm sure she has entered Heaven properly adorned. Bobby "the Beast" Hay ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Greatest Promotion and Different Names
Maybe the biggest promotion would go to Howard Morris who went from being a no-account Ernest T. Bass, to George the TV repairman. Of course then he went on to be the great Leonard Blush, but somehow got un-promoted back down to Ernest T. Bass when Malcolm Merriweather showed up. And just like Howard Sprauge wasn't Ed the insurance man, but rather Jack Dodson playing different characters, the same would apply here. And if you really wanted to get technical, you could say Ernest T. Bass got promoted to Director of several of the following episodes. And also, anybody whose been here a while knows that Clara Edwards was once Clara Johnson, just like Goober Pyle used to be Goober Beasley, and Floyd Lawson was Floyd Colby. Gilligan and the Skipper
Gilligan, played by Bob Denver, also played Dud Wash in the episode Divorce, Mountain Style. And Alan Hale Jr. who was the Skipper on Gilligan's Island played Jeff Pruitt who tried to court Thelma Lou. He even called Barney "Little Buddy", just like he did Gilligan. ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/

Which regular on TAGS once sung a song in a Meredith Willson musical? This was a famous Meredith Willson musical, and the TAGS regular sung the song in the movie version, not the stage version. For the entire 100 points, you have to name the TAGS regular, and the song that was sung. (Hint) It was a really cute song about a town in the United States, and it was not Mayberry. That of course would be little Ronny Howard singing "Gary, Indiana" from "Music Man". rehay e-mail: re...@zoomtown.com ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Not Everything You see on the Internet Is Correct
"Rusty Stevens was NEVER in TAGS. PERIOD! ( Sorry, but I am tensed. ) IMDB has him as being in it, but that's incorrect. The boy in TAGS resembles him, but is NOT him. Roy Stoner " Weenie Man is absolutely correct. IMBD is incorrect. I've watched "One Punch Opie" several times now and that is definitely not Rusty Stevens. At the time that episode was shot Rusty Stevens would have been several years older than that fellow. And if you study his face just a little bit, you'd know that is not the fellow we all know as Larry Mondello. "I believe he does throw a punch. He says "I laughed. Then I let into him like a windmill in a tornado" " Nope, that's the Hodie Snitch episode, not "One Punch Opie". You guys need to rewatch the "One Punch Opie" episode. I'm tellin' ya, there ain't no punches in "One Punch Opie"...just Opie standing up to Steve Quincy, crossing his line, knockin' the can off his shoulder, and steppin' inside his circle. (I take that back, Opie does punch Barney in the stomach...but it didn't hurt Barney 'caus he was braced. rehay e-mail: re...@zoomtown.com ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Re: WBMUTBB Digest, Vol 14, Issue 195
The Hoady Snitch story by Andy was not in "One Punch Opie". You're confusing that episode with the one where Opie actually gets himself a black eye. No punches are actually thrown in "One Punch Opie". Opie stands up to the new kid who gets everyone else in trouble swipin' apples and such. I guess the name "One Punch Opie" is kind of misleading. Opie doesn't have to throw any punches. rehay e-mail: re...@zoomtown.com ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/

"I have watched every "Leave it to Beaver" episode multiple times and I think the actress Victor is thinking about is Cheryl Holdridge who played the part of Julie Foster, who was one of Wally's girlfriends." And did you know that Cheryl Holdridge was one of the original mousekateers on the Micky Mouse Club? "Did I miss it? During the Academy Awards program I watched all the names of the fine talents that left us this past year, and I didn't see Dennis Weaver, Darren McGavin or Don Knotts. I believe they all had worked in Hollywood before, and had been in motion pictures. I know it's a club, and what kind of club would it be if they let everybody in? It's the kind of club that if they do this to Don Knotts, I don't want anything to do with it." I'm sure it was just a timing thing. Especially since all three were not included and since all three just passed within the last month. We'll have to wait until next year's Oscar show to see ole Barn honored - and I'm sure, to a hefty applause from his fellow actors. Barn Is Still With Us
Don Knotts has passed on to a much better place. But Barney Fife will never die. He will live on in our memories and in the memories of generations to follow us. Don Knotts created and brilliantly portrayed the most loved and most unforgetable character in television history. I am a long-time member of this chapter and of TAGSRWC, even though I rarely write in any more. But I still read, and I thank Allan and all of you for keeping this great phenomenon alive.
