I thought this was worth posting on the Bulletin Board. It's an excerpt from a recent article in *The Buffalo News *about the retirement of the police chief of a small village up here in Western NY:
*"John J. Swick, the longest-serving police chief in New York State, is trading his badge for a fishing pole.* *Swick marked his final day as Village of Middleport police chief Friday after 46 years with the department, including 37 years as its leader. Swick’s youngest son, Jeffrey, remembers when his father walked to work most days, living right down the street from the police station* * His longtime friend Ross Annable said "**I call him the Andy Taylor of Middleport from ‘The Andy Griffith Show,’ because he keeps the peace and takes care of his community and knows everybody".* *That's quite a compliment.* *Joe from G.I.* _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.wbmutbb.com/
