When in boot camp we had to learn the alphabet by names to make the letters more recognizable. We learned Able, Baker, Charlie, Dog, Easy, Fox, George, How, Item, Jig, King, Love, Mike, Nan, Oboe, Peter, Queen, Roger, Sugar, Tare, Uncle, Victor, Willie, Yankee, Zebra. The radar plane squadron was the VW2 and the planes were WV2 or as we call them to this day, Willie Victors.
