To Scott.....and a double sighting
Well, off the top of my head, here are a few more movie star/celebrity references in TAGS I can think of (besides Chester): Glenn Ford, John Wayne, Frank Sinatra, and of course - Cary Grant ("Judy, Judy, Judy"!) As for the double-sighting - I recently watched 2 "Twilight Zone" episodes, which I have seen many times before, but never realized I was watching TAGS Alumni. First, in "The Bewitching Pool", there was Tod Andrews as the mean father, who played the "by-the-book" Inspector in the first season, then Mr. Franklin in "A Girl for Goober" in the last season of TAGS. Then last night, in "The Fever" episode of the Twilight Zone, the main character was Everett Sloane, who played "Jubal, Jubal, Jubal" Foster in "The Keeper of the Flame". When I looked him up, sad to see that only 3 years after his only TAGS appearance, he committed suicide. Joe from G.I. ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.wbmutbb.com/
Double sighting
Love the old Wells Fargo series. Yesterday we had Col. Harvey being duped by Luke Comstock about Confederate gold, which was actually stolen Wells Fargo gold! Col. finally had to take care of Luke with a long shot with his trusty rifle but only wounded him on the right shoulder, according to the Col. From about 500 yards! He was not on the Elixir that day! ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.wbmutbb.com/
Double Sighting
I saw Jim Lindsey and Goober both in the same episode of an Alfred Hitchcock show. The episode was set in a rural small town and both Jim and Goob were locals in the town. Jim was fooling around with this guy's wife (The guy was Mr Haney from Green Acres) Not exactly the Mayberry type of behavior we would expect from Jim, But he was known as a bit of a rebel, playing his guitar like that in front of the funeral parlor. If you want to check out the episode on Hulu.com It is on the Alfred Hitchcock Hour, Season 2, Episode 13, entitled "The Jar". On another non tags note. If you are a Bob Newhart fan, I saw him on an episode of Alfred Hitchcock hour a few episodes back from the above episode. It was entitled "How to get rid of your wife" This is the earliest appearance of Bob that I have seen myself. And he does a magnificent job. The part is so unlike the characters he usually played on his TV shows that you almost can't believe it is him.
