We have often discussed who Mr. Schwump really is and what he does, etc, so I managed to track him down and he granted me an exclusive interview. So hopefully this will finally answer all the question we have had. I always suspected that he held a position of respect in Mayberry because everyone referred to him as Mr. Schwump. So perhaps he is a retired teacher, banker,or other such important person.
