an encounter between Mayberry and Hooterville.

SPINOFF

[(Ted) Theodoric of York]

Jackie Gleason claimed the first spin off.
Gleason portayed his character, Ralph Kramden, on the Cavalcade of
Stars in 1951. The Honey Mooners aired in 1955.

The first spin off from an existing on air show was 'Pete and Gladys'
which was a spin off of 'December Bride'in 1960.
