The Lone Ranger
Aunt Bee on the Long Ranger? Who would have thunk she would be on a TV show with naked savages? Wonder if she sent Tonto away from the breakfast table. But then again, Tonto was rather refined for an Indian in those days. Just think, both the Lone Ranger and Barney Fife had a silver bullet. I wonder if the Lone Ranger kept his in his pocket at times. -- Ken Anderson The Mayberry Guru 2906 May Street Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701 www.themayberryguru.com www.mayberryreflections.com ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.wbmutbb.com/
Aunt Bee on The Lone Ranger
I saw Francer Bavier (Aunt Bee) on The Lone Ranger. She played Aunt Maggie. Not to give away the ending, but this was a different role for her than sweet Aunt Bee. Even Tonto tells the Lone Ranger that he would rather fight her nephew than to fight her. The name of the episode is called Sawtelle Saga's End. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oq4gRGJ6bE0 ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.wbmutbb.com/
The Lone Ranger
>>>Saw Will Wright (Ben Weaver) on the first of his 2 Lone Ranger episodes. >>>Really special because Will, at the end, got to say that famous line "Why, >>>he's the Lone Ranger!" Dan>>> This reminds me of a story I once hear Andy Griffith tell to an interviewer. Many of you have no doubt noticed that in several episodes, Andy Taylor has a little mannerism where he sort of turns his head sideways and makes a distinctive sound; it is sort of like a whistle, but just a whoosh of air without any "tune" to it if you get what I mean. One time in particular comes in Andy Discovers America, when he tells the boys the story of Paul Revere and the Minutemen. He says "... the British come prancin' along in their fancy red suits a-waving to the girls, they let 'em have it!," and at that moment he turns his head to the side and makes the whooshing sound. Anyway, in the interview, Andy Griffith revealed that he picked up that little mannerism from his father Carl Griffith, when they would listen to The Lone Ranger on the radio. At the end of each episode, someone would ask "Who was that masked man?" and they'd get the answer "That was the Lone Ranger!" and then Carl would look at young Andy and do that little mannerism. So that's where it came from. Paul Mulik Sent from the Mayberry Courthouse ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.wbmutbb.com/
James Best & The Lone Ranger
Hey, Mayberry friends. Alumni sighting. An episode, today, of The Lone Ranger on FETV from 1955 featured our own James Best as a good guy that was duped by a crook. He and his girl won out in the end, thanks to The Lone Ranger and Tonto. He was listed as Jimmy Best in the credits. Love this. Aunt Bee on The Lone Ranger
I, too, watched the Twilight zone a thon and saw quite a few characters from TAGS; More than once I have seen Aunt Bee in other old black and white series from the EARLY fifties; one in particular was an episode of The Lone Ranger. She played a mean (and I mean MEAN) mama with sons that loved to shoot and rob and kill. Sure was difficult watching her in THAT rold. sheila ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
