RE:[wdvltalk] Riva's page problems
Riva Copied the page to my desktop & cut out the Flash animation. The page loaded completely & the menu worked fine (XP Pro, latest IE & latest Firefox). So it looks like the animation is the source of the trouble. Sorry if this is way too late - I'm on the digest. O.k. I managed to get it working in IE *but *the problem now is that the spacing in FF and NN is messed up a little. The About GoldTech and the Network/Managed Services are too close together. Re: [wdvltalk] Page problems
I'm seeing class="daddy">> in your menu, and I know that the second ">" is for looks on the drop down parts, but it would be better to put > which is the code for ">" I sure wish I could view some of the "strict" html pages that are very appealing in layout designs, like some of the great html/css programmers on this list. Regarding IE, NN, FF, etc. browsers, all you can do is keep fiddling like you said. If you look at my index.html page in other browsers, it is not perfect in all of them, and IE does input an extra carriage return, or line, but until I find out how to fix it, I just put up with it. The list members here have all given me excellent suggestions and advice. Jan Portman wrote: O.k. Re: [wdvltalk] Page problems
I had the same problem with my dropdown menu on my pages. The spacing in IE messed up. So I deleted the dropdown parts. I think it might be fixable if you use separate .css styles for IE and other browsers, or, you could just set it up for IE and see how the other browsers fare. This is a common problem, many of us have to live with. I would think that if I specified a particular line spacing in my .css it should work in all browsers, but since I deleted the dropdown parts, I didn't need to have multiple .css documents. Perhaps some other list members can help with the line spacing part, and help you more than the above. Jan Portman wrote: O.k. Re: [wdvltalk] Page problems
Yes, it's a great group. I left the group because I had to have the 2 surgeries, and I thought it would be too much to type, but right after the 1st surgery, I joined up again. Go figure, the group is magnetic. Jan Portman wrote: I believe (I hope I am not talking too soon) that I fixed the spacing issue. Thanks to all (especially Jan) for the help.
