RE: [wdvltalk] What font are they using?
Hi Amrit I don't recognise the font. The reason it's not in the stylesheet is because they've used an image replacement technique for the text in question, switching out the relevant parts with a single-frame Flash movie with the text layer selectable so you can still highlight and copy text. Rather impressive idea actually. MOU ___ Inbox full of spam? Get leading spam protection and 1GB storage with All New Yahoo! Re: [wdvltalk] What font are they using?
No Wonder! Thank you Ross. I was planning to use the font, but if I need Flash to display it -- even if I can figure out how to do it -- I won't use it. Even if image needs to be generated then too no use using it because I wanted it for my blog title header. RE: [wdvltalk] What font are they using?
Amrit: It's not that you must use Flash to display it, they've used Flash to ensure they can still offer the standard text-related operations a browser provides (i.e. copy and paste). This is something you can't do with a standard image replacement. But if you're only planning on doing this once for a header then it's probably a little overkill. Certainly I'm going to be looking at this for my projects as I think it's actually a nice variation on standard image replacement. Incidentally while we talk about fonts, does anybody have a copy of Korataki I can pinch? I'm looking at using it for my 2007 branding update for the company but I'm not 100% sure it's what I want so obviously I don't want to shell out for it if I'm not going to use it.
