Re: Using Jenkins to Build a WOApp

2013-01-30 Thread Musall Maik
Hi Roger,

i vaguely remember having dealt with those WOCompile problems as well when I
set it up. My jenkins server is running 10.7 however. In any case I believe the
WOJenkins stuff needs customizing for certain app/framework setups. You could
go and have a look at my forks:

https://github.com/maiksd/WOJenkins
https://github.com/maiksd/WOJenkins_Job_InstallWOAndWOnder

Perhaps there's a clue in there for you.

Maik

Am 23.01.2013 um 21:00 schrieb Roger Perryman ro...@xeotech.com:

I'm trying to configure Jenkins to build my WO Application so that it can be
deployed. I'm not sure I ever had Jenkins working properly because I am
getting permission errors. Originally, I had installed Hudson on OSX 10.5.8.
Then it was upgraded to Jenkins. Also we switched from SVN to Git. That is
when the problems started. The recommended git version is not available on
10.5. I attempted to install Jenkins on my laptop (10.6.7). Jenkins _seemed_
to work but I was getting permission errors from Git. I completely removed
Jenkins and removed all known artifacts. I then followed these steps from the
 Wiki:

I reinstalled following Installing and Configuring Jenkins. I chose the
stand-alone Mac OS X setup. Everything worked as expected. In the Post
Installation, I installed Multiple SCMs and Git Plugin. I did not configure
for using SSL at this time.

I followed Installing WebObjects and WOnder for Jenkins using WOJenkins.
 This step built successfully.

Then I followed the steps in Multi-Project Jobs Using WOJenkins. This step
 failed at .../SimpleBlogLogic/build.xml:87 taskdef class
org.objectstyle.woproject.ant.WOCompile cannot be found using the classloader
 AntClassLoader[].

I'm not sure if there is a step missing in the guide or if I missed step.
I've reviewed the steps and ran the job again with the same results. Perhaps
I have chosen the wrong template for my needs. Do I just clone the
My_WebObjects_Project each time I want to create a new project? Ultimately,
I want to compile my application and dependent frameworks (WO, WOnder, and
two of my own) and bundle them together for deployment. I'm considering a war
file so I don't have to deal with installation or version issues on the
server. I want simple and reliable. I also need to replicate this process on
a dedicated build server once I have verified everything works.

My source repository is in Stash on another computer on the local network.
I'm using my personal credentials for now. I suspect I will need to create an
SSH key for the build server to talk to Stash and place it in
 JENKINS_HOME/.ssh.

Here is the setup on my laptop.
   OSX:10.6.7
   WO: 5.4.3
   WOnder: master (5.8.x ?)
   Git:1.7.9.1
   Jenkins:1.499

WOCommunity Association is now a non-profit corporation

2013-01-30 Thread Pascal Robert
FYI, I got confirmation that the WOCommunity Association is now a non-profit
corporation! We still have to open a bank account and write the by-laws, but at
least the first part is done.

If someone wants to contribute or comment the by-laws, I wrote a draft in the
wiki:

  http://wiki.wocommunity.org/display/WOCOM/Organization+Incorporation

Please be aware that we defined two classes of members:

«

The corporation is authorized to establish Class A members and Class B members
as follows :

(1) The Class A members shall be entitled to receive notice of and to attend
all meetings of the members of the Corporation and each Class A member shall
have one (1) vote at each such meeting, except for meetings at which only
members of another class are entitled to vote separately as a class.

(2) Except as otherwise provided by the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act,
S.C. 2009, c.23 the Class B members shall not be entitled to receive notice of,
attend or vote at meetings of the members of the Corporation.

»

The by-laws needs to define who is going in each class.

Re: Immortal sessions in production

2013-01-30 Thread Matteo Centro
From what I see some instances don't log the DB Connection error and
still have immortal sessions.
The main problems with immortal sessions is that eventually they end
up with a memory problem, I recall there is a way to make the instance
restart if memory errors happen but I can't remember how.

I'm still in dire straits, no idea how to fix this... no idea what's
happening either. Any suggestions?

Yes. JavaMonitor don't have to be in the same machine that runs wotaskd

It is not editable on to-one relationships. You need to set it on the Entity
to handle those or use ERXEnterpriseObjectCache or manual batch fetching or
pre-fetching.

Re: WOCommunity Association is now a non-profit corporation

2013-01-30 Thread David LeBer
Ken,

I believe the primary answer is that it is opensource.

 Pascal,

Maybe I'm missing something - what does Cayenne offer that EOF doesn't do?

By getting money to rewrite WO on top of other tools like Cayenne! The take
over will start with the Cayenne Training Day at WOWODC 2013 :-)

Now, how do we take over the world with this? :)

No Daves involved in this, maybe that's why it worked :-P Current

This is exciting news and good work. I encourage continued good work and
efforts on this front. WebObjects and associated technologies have made
some unique contributions. This association looks to be a significant
contribution to the community. May we continue to contribute to both our
own community and share with others as good citizens of this cloud/web
 ecosystem.

FYI, I got confirmation that the WOCommunity Association is now a
non-profit corporation! We still have to open a bank account and write
the by-laws, but at least the first part is done.

If someone wants to contribute or comment the by-laws, I wrote a draft in
 the wiki:

 http://wiki.wocommunity.org/display/WOCOM/Organization+Incorporation

Please be aware that we defined two classes of members:

 «

The corporation is authorized to establish Class A members and Class B
 members as follows :

 (1) The Class A members shall be entitled to receive notice of and to
attend all meetings of the members of the Corporation and each Class A
member shall have one (1) vote at each such meeting, except for meetings
at which only members of another class are entitled to vote separately as
 a class.

 (2) Except as otherwise provided by the Canada Not-for-Profit
Corporations Act, S.C. 2009, c.23 the Class B members shall not be
entitled to receive notice of, attend or vote at meetings of the members
 of the Corporation.
