2010-11-17 Thread Daniel Mejía
Thank you David,

This works very well. I modified the CSS to move the list to the right and have
background. Here is the css used. Here is the image with the result.

<>

/* css for ERDControllerButton for ModernLook */

.ERDControllerButton {
display: block !important;
}

.ERDControllerButtonLinkList {
display: inline;
margin: 0px;
padding: 0px;
}

.ERDControllerButtonLinkList li {
display: inline;
margin: 0px;
padding: 0px;
font-family: Arial, Geneva, sans-serif;
font-size: 11px;
}

.ERDControllerButtonLinkList li a {
padding: 0px 5px;
}
/*Estilos PopUp*/
.ERDControllerButtonFlyOverList{
background-color: #414B5E;
color: #C2C6CF;
border: 1px solid #333;
width:80px;
padding:10px;
rigth:20;
}
.ERDControllerButtonFlyOverList a{
color: #FFF;
}
.ERDControllerButtonFlyOverList a:hover{
color: #CCC;
text-decoration:underline;
}

.ERXJSFlyOver span{
left:45px !important;
top:-13px !important;
}

D2WModernLook question

2010-11-17 Thread Daniel Mejía
Hi all,

I´m working with the D2WModernLook and I´m trying to add an ERControllerButton
to a list component, but I can´t get to display the actions in my class that
extends ERDBranchDelegate. Looking in the CSS from the ERModernDefaultSkin I
found that the style for ERDBranchDelegate is set to display : none. Is that
possible to change this attribute to display the button that contains al the
actions in my class that extends ERDBranchDelegate class?

The rules that I´m using are similar that the rules explained in the wiki in
this page:

http://webobjects.mdimension.com/hudson/job/Wonder54/javadoc/er/directtoweb/pages/ERD2WPage.html#pageController()

Re: D2W: How to turn on relationship editing?

Maybe you need to add these rules in your user.d2wmodel file

(task = 'edit' and smartRelationship.isToMany = 0) => componentName =
"ERD2WEditToOneRelationship" (com.webobjects.directtoweb.Assignment)
(task = 'edit' and smartRelationship.isToMany = 1) => componentName =
"ERD2WEditToManyRelationship"   (com.webobjects.directtoweb.Assignment)

They are displayed, if there is a linked record in the linked-to-
table, it lists the attributes, but not a way that enables to re-
link it to a different record.

If there is no linked-to record, there are no attributes to display.

The old D2W from Apple had a relationship edit page, a way to re-
link to a different record.

Are you using vanilla WO or Project Wonder?

Project Wonder.

Do you have the relationships specified in your displayPropertyKeys
or sectionContents?

No, I have the default displayPropertyKeys, is that my problem? what
is a "sectionContents"

I have embedded a D2WList within a standard statefull component, see
below

 PageWrapper : PageWrapper {
pageName = "News";
}

 NewsList : D2WList {
list = allNews2;
entityName = "News";
}

allNews2 returns an NSArray containing news objects.

The list displays all data OK within page, BUT the inspect buttons
do not function like they would in a stand alone D2WListPage.

I'm clearly missing a step to hookup this option when embedding pages.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Daniel,

This looks quite interesting... JavaPersistence's API makes much
more sense to me then JDO's. I have some questions about JP however,
if you have a moment to answer them:

1. How complicated is the glue layer between JP, and MSAccess / Derby?
In my experience its very easy to intregrate Derby withh JP. For
simple programs NetBeans has some wizards that do all the job to
create the Java Class with all the annotations required to do a CRUD
programs.

2. Do you have to define the database schema on both layer manually?
Or is there some sort of an automation involved in this process?
You have two option to define the database schema. You can use
NetBeans to do a reverse enginering and get al lthe required Beans for
the tables that you need. Also, you can use the modeler to define a
model (like EOModeler) to get the XML file with the definitions of you
schema (Entities, attributes, relatiions, etc.). With JP you can merge
both definitions you you need to modify you XMl schema using
annotations.

3. Are there any significant ORM-feature differences between WO and
JP?

I don't know if there are significant differences, but I have found
very similar JPA with EOF.

4. Can JP conveniently deliver info on the database shema? Info such
as a list of properties, attributes, relationships, inverse
relationships, attribute classes... Or maybe does one have to
manually extract that from the annotations using reflection?

All that info is defined using annotations of XML files.

5. JP seems to rely heavily on annotations. I have never worked much
with annotations... What are your experiences with this approach?

You can use a XML file ass with EOF to define all the definition of
your database and also you can use annotations in your Beans or both.

6. JP seems to required quite a bit of typing to define even the
simplest entities. Do you have problems with scaling, when defining
a complex schemas?

You don't need to type anything. For simple programs you can use the
NetBeans wizard to get the Java Classes ( http://wiki.netbeans.org/SimpleJPAApplicationWithNetbeans
 ), For more complex project you can use the Workbench to define your
schema. http://wiki.eclipse.org/Using_Workbench_(ELUG)

Re: Looking forward to 5.4.2

2008-05-29 Thread Daniel Mejía

Gennady,

I installed the upgrade that has WO 5.4.2 included but the first thing
that I noticed was that the model directories are not recognized by
the operating systems, after installed 5.4.2 version my machines was
not able to identify the eomodeld directories as a eomodel and was
show as a plain directory. The problem with this is that you are not
able to import models in eclipse, that was an inconvenience in my case
and decided to uninstalled all and move back to 5.4.1, now everything
is fine with my models.

May be there is an easy way to fix it but I don't know how to do that.

Best regards,

Daniel.

Hello, All

Does anybody know when WO 5.4.2 is going to be officially released?
It seemes to have numerous bugfixes, some of which I really need.
People say it is already a part of iPhone SDK... but I'm afraid, it
can not be considered as release. And I'm not shure it would be a good
idea to experiment with my employers server trying to merge those
libraries there witout an official installer.
