Which is and I quote:

Creates a two-tier Cocoa Java application that uses Enterprise
Objects as a data access mechanism. It allows you to use Enterprise
Objects within Interface Builder so that you can build nib files that
display data from an application’s enterprise object instances.

Pure Java since 5.0. You can probably get the older libraries from
4.5 to build in newer versions of ProjectBuilder, but not since Xcode
AFAIK.

Time to wake up and smell the Java. :-P

Re: help for Objective C

2006-03-21 Thread Chuck Hill

Hi John,

In versions 4.5 and 5.0 (not sure if it was one or both), there were
some scripts that would do a mechanical Objective-C to Java
conversion. Depending on the Objective-C design, it could leave a
lot of work to be done, particularly where dynamic typing, posing,
and categories were used. It is work, but not impossible.

If you are interested, my company (Global Village Consulting) has
experience in this area and can perform the conversion for you.

An old document that might help get you started is at http://
docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25328. I notice that the
link to JavaConverter.pdf is broken. In earlier WebObjects versions,
it was included at /Developer/Documentation/WebObjects/
JavaConverter.pdf, but it doesn't seem to be included with WO 5.3. I
can send some instructions to you if you can't find JavaConverter.pdf.

The last time I ran /System/Library/WebObjects/JavaApplications/
JavaConverter.woa/JavaConverter, it failed because it couldn't find
the C preprocessor that it expected (if I recall correctly). I was
able to work around this problem by creating a soft link of the
expected C preprocessor name pointing to an existing C preprocessor.
I suspect that the fix will be obvious when you run JavaConverter.

Aloha,
Art
