Re: [libreoffice-website] LibreOffice.XX some sites do not work
Hello, actually, there are several topics: - Technically, best is indeed if people enter our DNS servers, so we have full control of the domain name, in case the domain names are for the official LO or TDF pages (like in countries where we cannot legally register the name as we are no residents there). - Independent whether people forward to our pages or connect our DNS, they could - based on the jurisdiction of their country - be held liable for the contents, which is something they should keep in mind. - Legally, we need to at least have an overview who registers a LO domain name. We are legally required to protect our trademark. Although I don't want to put too many limitations on people, legally we have to acknowledge the name use and grant them a license, in case our trademark policiy doesn't already do so. In a nutshell: I agree that some detailed page with information on that topic would be helpful. Right now, we only have the trademark policy, which is rather generic. I was only able to buy the domain documentfoundation.fr which is redirected to documentfoundation.org Best regards. JBF Actually, if you Google the owner of the site NV2 Sarl you will notice that this individual has registered many websites with big ticket names and has Google ads on all of them. There is the same disclaimer on all the sites that he/they are not the owners of the software nor have they participated in its development. All of the registered sites are in France. There is quite a long list of these sites. There are Google ads on the front page and footer. It doesn't look like a site that is run by the TDF. In fact it almost looks like LibreOffice is endorsing some PDF software which I doubt we are doing. Someone should look into this. All of the other NL LibreOffice.NL sites should be checked to see if they land on the appropriate pages. LibreOffice.ca is NOT WORKING LibreOffice.us is NOT WORKING LibreOffice.de is OK LibreOffice.es is OK LibreOffice.it is OK LibreOffice.jp is NOT WORKING LibreOffice.pt is NOT WORKING LibreOffice.br is NOT WORKING Cheers, Marc As strange as it may seem, the LibreOffice.ca domain was available when I checked it. Weird! I registered the domain and it will be redirected to LibreOffice.org as soon as the redirection is propagated over the internet. Florian: contact me off list if you would like to have it updated to your DNS settings as was done with the documentfoundation.ca domain. As usual, I will transfer the domain to the TDF when requested to do so. [libreoffice-website] Wiki and WYSIWYG editor
Ahem ... I was about to do a small update, and, the first in quite a while. Anyway, is there no longer a WYSIWYG editor for the wiki? It would be nice if the return of the WYSIWYG editor were possible. Or am I missing something?
